Pretty much this. Currently playing Swordsman online and they have a real issue with gold sellers, but it's the whole story. For every five you ban, ten more take their places. It's just a never ending battle. The only game that seemed to of figured out a way to solve it, though it was not through ingenuity/cleverness/ideas, was EVE Online, though it is more thanks to it's game style that makes it very difficult for botters to make a suitable base for making money then selling it on.

It's a difficult scenario.
Also Guild Wars 2.

So wait, if I want to sell all the crap on all my accounts because I cba playing any more I can't sell the gold I'd get for them to get _something_ back for the GG and time I've spent, despite hundreds of people doing that in the past (and hundreds buying from gold sellers who are also bots)?

people buy because they can't spend the time. k. I myself do think maybe I would buy a little happiness can mean when you can play, you can enjoy your ingame time much more. I think this is the main reason why we have people buying.. Either that or make an , . People moaning about P2W are either deluded or stupid, way of the world, why you think this game will be shielded from those forces is bordering on the rediculous.

So you and all these other buyers only get happy and enjoy the game when you are a high level with a kit you didnt play for but bought instead? You dont enjoy the game unless you are among the highest levels with the rare skills?
Its a P server of an ancient game so that should protect it from the pay2win goldselling stuff. If the players were really playing because they miss Mir that is.

IF thats not true then what every server owner should do is make everyone level 40 at the launch with decent kit, sell everyone the skills for their class as soon as they reach 2 level above when it can first be used.(keep a little competition for drops) and then as soon as the 10% of the server reaches the next level everyone who has reached 40 and 35% gets upped to 41 and so on. Possibly introduce a fee for this.
Same for next level only maybe you have to get 41 and 40% to be able to buy yr boost to 42.
Gold buying I cant find a solution for yet.

gold selling and buying was given the green light by sam. (big mistake)
but on the other hand i dont remember seeing an info post stating policy has now changed and this is bannable.
This should happen before you start to ban ppl or its unjustified.
make it a blue info post on ingame chat.

letting known cheats reroll and buy players is what you should sort out first.

I wouldnt play your server.
I wouldnt ever run one after reading this forum.(not that I have the skills anyway but even if I had I wouldnt.)

And why not?
Seems everyone wants to be among the high levels with most or all of the skills available and good to decent kits. But no one has the time to level and hunt for the drops if they work or have families. So the main players are at home 24/7 for some reason. The casuals dont even get a look in. SO they spend irl cash buy already levels chars skills weaps n gold.

My way server gets the cash and gameplay stays competitive cos there isnt a dominant group of high levels. Everyone else has to put in a bit of time levelling to 35% before they can buy a boost and keep up with the stay at homes
You could be one of the ones that levels to get ahead of everyone else. Nothing to stop you being level 44 when most people buy a boost to 41.

Server already talkin about skill book crafting so why not sell it to em but 2 levels above first use? You could still craft them before that.
So do explain what is so off putting about being able to compete, keeping the game competitive, allowing casuals to keep up, getting income for the server instead paying scammers cheats n bot handlers?

Not talkin huge amounts of cash here either. Maybe only can do if you been a subscriber for 3 months. Cant be that hard to sort out.
