Serious suggestion about forum mods

Tai seems to cause a lot of agro on the Chronicles forums and consistently makes digs and snide remarks about multiple players and guilds.

Then goes out of his way to preach that noone else should do this.

There has been a lot of talk ingame and over Teamspeak channels about asking if Tai could be removed as a Chronicles moderator, for the good of the server.

No flames, no bias, no personal attack.

It's not a dig at him as a person or a mod, I just think it might be better for all involved if he stepped back from Chronicles?

There has been talk amongst several guild leaders about setting up a separate forum for Chronicles without Tai.

Thoughts?

I understand the purpose of moderators, but I genuinely haven't seen Tai do any 'moderating', in fact the majority of his posts are not constrcutive at all. Not entirely sure why/how he came to be a mod.

No doubt I'll get an infraction for this, as I know others have received infractions for less.

I personally like the way tai administrates...top marks..dont see the prob

Tai, like myself isn't a Mod.

He's the Administrator of these forums.

Tai is not a mod of this section and has nothing to do with the server or the server team.

He is an admin of LOMCN of which Chronicles is a sub forum

In relation to his posts in this section, he is a player of the server and tbh has posted nothing worse then most of the players that post in this section.

As an admin of LOMCN (same as myself) he has and will enforce the LOMCN Global forum rules

We have had talks about having our own forum but why split up the Mir community, it is small enough as it is, also if it was not for LOMCN servers like Chronicles and others would not be here.

LOMCN is the home of Mir private servers.

It honestly just feels like sometimes he's trying to throw his weight around without reason, I understand infractions etc for excessive trolling and flaming.

Tai himself will tell you I've had one before and he'll also tell you how I responded, I have no issue with moderating done right.

But the 'mines bigger than yours' rubbish is a waste of everyones time and I just feel like he does it in this sub-forum without good reason, unless there is something that's happened behind closed doors, of which I'm not party to?

Who would moderate that forum? Staff? Nah, staff are too busy working on the actual server to clean up everyone's cry and jelly rants.

So volunteers? Volunteers who have no interest or connection with Chronicles? But how will these people moderate if they don't know what goes on in the game.

So volunteers who also play chronicles? Oh look, we're right back where we are now.

tbh 90% of the trolls don't even play the server, lomcn is just a means for people with accounts with nothing better to do to but troll the most active section of the forum in an attempt to get a reaction.

a separate forum would remove a fair amount of these people.

These threads make me laugh, just like the other one about the recall set. So being a Admin, SuperMod or Section Mod instantly means your not allowed to play the game or have an opinion?

Are we allowed to even carry out our assigned roles or is that what is upsetting you all?

+1 for this. Thai's posts most of the time are 1/100th of the level of trolling and crap other people post. Sometimes, like us all, he n get riled up. The problem with being a mod/admin i that people will purposefully bait you.

Thai should stay - he does a good job. lets face it - you lot arent an easy crowd to moderate with the petty bickering and peen wars that go on and on and on and on in here

I wouldn't say any of my posts so far have been immature and I've specifically stated that it's nothing personal against Tai - I'm just trying to understand what his gripe (if any) is with the people who play Chronicles as I read the whole forum and I don't see him acting this way anywhere else.

I'll be there firs to admit I'm not very professional when it comes to this section, but if you get to have fun with it why can't I? Sam wants his forum here and I'm not going to get in the way of that so if he wants to opt me out of modding this section, that's fine, we are still friends.
