How does it work do you have to refine then add gems or vice versa. ?
Is gemming a seperate addition i.e max refine on a weapon + 3 gems or max refine including add gems. ?
What is the max refine that can be obtained. ?

Noobie questions i know but just need clarification

+10 Stats from refine
+3 of each stat from gems

(+10 is total from a weapon gain, so you could gem+3 then refine +7)

So if i got a +7 DSword can i then add 3gems or is the +2 counted as added so i can only add 1 gem ?

If you refined +4 then tried to gem +3 i dont think that would work (i could be wrong, ive never refined on here)
I think you need to add 3 gems, then refine higher, but it's capped at 10.

So you could refine +7, from your post, then add 3x Speed, 3x Slow if you get me?

cheers ths for the reply
just trying to figure out why when i tried to add attack speed to it i get the message "This item has reached its full capacity " so still confused
Perehaps i'll be prvilaged and a GM could enlighten the refine formats

I know that +7 is the max on items for gems, IE you could gem a ring Speed+3 Slow+3 DC+1 .... I guess this is tied in with refines too? Like I said, i've never bothered to refine, but sound's like its the same.

+7 is the cap for all items when attempting to gem(+3 of a single stat), so if you have a dc+7 dsword even if it wasn't gemmed it will not be able to be gemmed at all.

Also with refining, if you wanted to gem 3 dc and refine 7 dc for +10, you have to gem first as once the weapon has +3 it cannot be gemmed, even if the +3 was from refines.

If your sword currently has dc+7 and nothing else, then no you cannot gem a.speed because your weapon has the gem cap already even if you haven't done a single gem. It is a bit flawed the system, but from what I have seen Samuel has a whole new refine system being made :)

Say for example if I had a dc+5 d sword I could still add 2x speed gems?

Yeah and then refine it another 3 times.

Basically

Max Gem = +3 of any stat.

Max Overall Gem = +7

If +7 is obtained by gem or refine you cannot gem any further.

Max refine +10

aye, but you can refine it another 3 times =/

Also the added DC is said to not be taken into account when deciding what band of "ease to luck" the sword is in.
so it should luck up just as "easy" as any dsword.

So you could add +3 Speed +3 Slow and 1 DC gem

Then refine 9 times after this :P'

Theoretically.
refining a weapon you have invested over 100 mil in providing all 7 gems work would be slightly insane.
when are you starting? lol
