Why can we only upgrade RedMoonSword and FateSword?

I would like to use other quest items but can't use gems on them. I feel we should be able to use gems on all quest items, we only get 1 of them from a quest so if we break it then there's no more anyway.

The quest items on Chronicles where designed to be unique items for low level players that did the quest system. No quest items can be gemed or upgraded, in a way they are temp items to reward and help players through the lower levels. Well that's what I think, I was not on the Chronicles team when these quests where designed.

Redmoonsword and fate weapons are old quests from the days of official.

Quest items should be rewards for people who go out of their way to do the quests but instead they are just crap rewards.

I feel that we should be able to upgrade them to make something of them, the only item worth using at the moment is LionBelt. The RedMoonSword and FateSword also but they can be upgraded..

I would like to hear other players opinions on this but personally I think they should be upgradable. At least then they may be worth something and they would also filter out some of the quest items rather than just dumped on the floor or sold in shops.

If anything, they should look to put higher level quests/quest items in at some point, for perhaps 35-45.

However, it is far from being the most important thing that needs time at the moment.

They were all very very good items when the game first launched because shops did not retain the items sold to them, Skele Rings were rare, claw necks and greenbeads unheard of. so a 1-4Neck was supreme.
Now they are worthless aside from the lion belt as you mentioned.
This is not a bad thing, this is progression.

I do not think there needs to be 35-45 quest items now, earlier before OSR's were obtainable by anyone maybe but now not so much.
There is still room for a 45 quest weapon for those that cannot get their hands on a 43 weap (that number is reducing fast aswell)


The only quest based rewards i would work on is the craft a skill/quest a skill system.

Basically they want to refine up a tao weapon to high SC, because you can't drop the items, you keep them forever

Just pointing out that MrTash has a +2 dc gemmed quest necky, should this be removed in this case then?

No, the items should all be made droppable on death.

You could allow people to gem them but make them drop on death, seems like a fair compromise.

This was before you could buy and sell them from the shop.

Meaning if you broke it, there was no replacement (when these items were good to use)
