We knew this would happen before they was added hence why they was waiting for new AI or new Guard AI for 2.0 on the tracker.
I don't know why they would of released them as they was, it was obvious this would happen to anyone who has ever played Mir.

Maybe so, but just because my car CAN do 100MPh, doesn't mean I shouldn't be arrested for it :) Bad analogy I know, but it shows the point. I'm not saying people who did this should be punished, just that they knew it was naughty, and are in no place to complain now that they can't do it.

its been proven time and time again if there's a means to do something, people will do it. hell they even go out of their way to do it.
Look at xmas gamegold exploit.
or the EXP bug stacking on Ace

if you added an npc in the safezone which would instant level people to 50 and told them not to touch it, do you really believe they would listen?

if luring to guards is naughty then i need to shut up in case of de level again

You botted all your levels with your bro in past bichon.

should be banned long ago nvm delvled.

luring it to the guards is how ive only seen it killed. other guilds/players make this impossible to attack thats what should make this hard not its damage. after all there is a server shout so everyone knows its time for a fight or time to lure it and jump the drops.

I like mobs that are a challenge to kill. People often complain boss fights are too easy - but when they are made harder, people then complain its too hard - until they know the tactic - they they complain its too easy.

If you haven't noticed - the team have a lot to do, with limited resources. I will apologise on their behalf for not dropping everything right away to fix, what must be, a game breaking bug for it to require such instantaneous attention.

Sorry for the sarcasm - but i'm in a ranting mood today. This though, doesn't change the essence of what im saying.

/Mark

It's not as if it takes long to add a map or a mob into a map. Granted if it has no drops than that may require a little testing but it will most likely be a copy and paste of something already existing which however shouldn't matter considering it was already suppose to be in game.

How long did it take the team to add agility 1 to NephriteBoots(H)? Months and months, the only reason it got done was because I nagged on every reboot posted for a few weeks until it finally got done. I guarantee it takes less than 2 minutes and a reboot of the server for it to be fixed. Open database, open items table, go down to NephriteBoots(H) (or use a search function which they most likely have), go along to the agility cell, push '1' and close the database/

The difference is mine wasnt abuse, yours blatantly was - as your reply to it - which has received appropriate measures too. Now quite while your ahead.

Back OT:

Yes, if there is a way, people will do it - yes I DO do 100MPh in my car (and more), but I know its bad and wrong, and expect to go to hell for it :P

I agree its frustrating when you know things technically only take a minute or 2. now add it to the other 1000 things the other 60-70 little things that need doing. Add in there commits to the version conctrol, patching, pushing to test, pushing to live, and rebooting the server.

That small 'changing of a number' miht seem menial, but there is allways more than meets the eye.

As it stands though - months and months IS indeed a bit long to wait, but constant nagging can be done in a more constructive way.

I recon they get like on average 10 bug a day maximum, 8 minor and 1-2 medium/vital. 20 - 30 minutes a day fixing the minor bugs is not that long, I'm sure BabyHack spends more than 30 minutes a day on here replying to pointless posts when he could be fixing these minor bugs.

Rather than going to fix the medium / vital bugs first and getting 1 bug fixed you should do the little one's first and work your way up - unless it's game breaking but by the time it's fixed and the server is rebooted then there would be no point in rushing to get it done first anyway.

Although I'm moaning about 30 minutes of their day and their reply will be "we have a life, we got jobs and family" but tbh I don't care. I know it sounds rude but at the end of the day you have made a commitment to this server when you signed up for the role. People's lives evolve around this game, although yours may not.

You sir, need to get out more. Also, do some research into different software development life cycles.

/mark

I know them and I know that small projects / businesses rarely follow them. I doubt any are required for this as there are very few people coding and the tasks they do are also very little. They are more 'addons' rather than a start to end product.

They hav e a test server, version control, patch notes and a patch level. They will be following some form of product development lifecycle, even if it is just loosely. I've yet to work for a company that follows one stringently such as Agile. They tend to be like ITIL - a set of best practices for you to follow as you please - but not a set of rules to adhere to.

And mine, and the most boring, dry training courses you will ever be on. What level are you? Foundation wasn't too bad - but then getting through t specialise in development was a ****er :/

Manager at the time took the foundation course 6 months after me, thought it was the bees knees and then started trying to implement everything ITIL like it was a framework of rules to be set in stone :( They were a bad few months.
