I'd argue that anybody willing to put up a server and deal with the mir community without a money incentive probably needs their head examining. I agree with Far, people clearly enjoy this "water", and in my opinion will likely continue choosing it over any other upcoming beverage choices
All i'm seeing here is the classic "You all have to enjoy what I enjoy, or you're all wrong!"
People are enjoying Jamie's server... people enjoy 3gena's servers... people enjoy other servers.... let people enjoy what they want to enjoy and stop trying to tell everyone how mir should be, and...
Whaddayamean!?!?!?!?!? WoooL looks and feels so much better than mir, the images are so much higher res and animations framerates so much better. It's because of WoooL I cant bare to work on standard mir2 anymore lol
The chinese video isnt perfect but it is way better than some of the ideas been proposed so far, it cuts out the image around the object without the tiles, splits it in to strips, and adds it to objects lib for you.
In the nicest possible way, ya'll need to move on from these idea's. Theyre silly and theyre never going to work.

Really cool the way WoooL does map background. The background is a completely different map file, so we end up drawing 2 maps at the same time, and with the background map been smaller it scrolls at a different speed to the main map giving a really nice parallax effect...
