I have to disagree. You can learn the basics in a few hours but that's far, far from being a DBA. I even know people with years of SQL experience (including myself) who are not close to being a DBA.
C is also cross platform and that doesn't mean that software written in C will work on all OS.
It needs a lot of work, especially on the graphics stack part, SlimDX and all that.
Your best shot is using a VM with Windows.
Yes, it's on again but as I said, they've changed things. We could say it's a V2 (or even a V3) but it doesn't look they care about updating the thread/opening a new one or even updating the IP.
