    If we really go back to it's origin than we should limit the gameshop to items that do not even give the slightest of advantage (read: pot that buff your dc/mc/sc, exp or anything like that). Items should just be cosmethic than. Take WoW gameshop as example

    Perhaps it's possible to let everyone download and test if they can properly connect to the game a few days prior to launch. If anyone faces any serious issues they will be able to report/fix before live. Just remove spawns and npcs until live.
