    I've just tried to open these libs (war wiz tao) with the latest lib editor build but it's just giving an unhandled exception. Is anybody else having the same issue?

    I think you should be able to collect items from anywhere (apart from rts, potions etc.) I added it to my list awhile ago to add a tickbox to item DB called "Can collect mail anywhere" or something along those lines.

    By default on crystal files you have to buy the item, then go and collect it at the npc and then finally collect it from the mailbox. I am not really sure why the collect from NPC part is involved but I'm guessing the devs had a reason for it.

    Yeah, Artificial got boring quick as it was based on USA which was a shame as USA failed pretty quick so I don't think copying it like for like was the best idea. I believe they now have their own roadmap which may lead to unique content but it's kind of too late now.

    I think the newer windows versions come with slimdx already installed etc, don't they? I don't remember having to install anything for the latest crystal files last time I installed windows.

    One thing I can say about @Nameless is that his mir3 server stayed up for quite some time even after user count dropped quite low which is more than can be said for many servers that just pop up and disappear not long after. I'll be giving his server a try for that reason alone.

    I'm not a big fan of mir3 but this guy has put in some coding work as there is many features / QOL I haven't seen before on other servers.
