not sure on what the error is but why are you getting the error on 192.168.1.73? have you been testing these in lan?.. try them out in local before.. i just have them in local and they work.. 127.0.0.1.. they also work over lan if you set them to work in local.. u just need to edit the client...
don't worry.. your guide was for the phili files and it was written a lot of time ago.. it can be used also for these files but ovviously this is not your fault..

go here and download the lastest comdlg32.ocx and copy it into the server launcher folder and into C:\windows\system32 aswell.. overwritting the old files..

well it really isn't important.. you can open the server files manually..
just open in this order:
LoginGate=C:\Mirserver\LoginGate\LoginGate.exe
SelGate=C:\Mirserver\SelGate\SelGate.exe
RunGate=C:\Mirserver\GameGate\RunGate.exe
LoginServ=C:\Mirserver\LoginSrv\LoginSrv.exe...

press start and type cmd.. wait a sec so that it will suggest you cmd.exe..
right click on it and run as administrator
and try typing in "regsvr32 comdlg32.ocx" without "" ovviously..
try the serverlauncher again after that.. i think it has something to do with the fact that you are not...
have you already tried registering the files on the vista you have? not sure why it is giving you that error but you can try to see if that is the problem..

if you still have problems open the task manager, ctrl+alt+canc and shutdown the server launcher application.. look into the process tab for the serverlauncher.exe and kill it.. if you have more than one open, kill them all..
inside the m2server folder copy the mir2.exe and paste it into the client eventually overwriting the actual mir2.exe you have..
if in the m2server folder you don't have the mir2.exe, then copy the mir2.dat file and paste it in the client folder and rename it into mir2.exe..
after you have done...
open where you saved the client, then copy the map folder into C:\miserver\m2server\ and overwrite the empty map folder which is there..
then open C:\mirserver\m2server\envir and open the file called mapquest.txt and paste this inside instead of what you have
