    I have to disagree. You can learn the basics in a few hours but that's far, far from being a DBA. I even know people with years of SQL experience (including myself) who are not close to being a DBA.

    Yeah, it happens. I had to disable turbo boost on my laptop to play with normal temps.

    C is also cross platform and that doesn't mean that software written in C will work on all OS. It needs a lot of work, especially on the graphics stack part, SlimDX and all that. Your best shot is using a VM with Windows.
