    I don't know if this is the same for 1.9, but in 1.4 you could open your Mir.ini and change the 'patched' value from 0 to 1 (everytime you wanted to start mir, unless you make a program to do it). Alternatively, use your firewall to block the patch site, or if the settings are still there...
