Well i did start making a 1.9 server ages ago, but then decided that i couldnt be arsed. Now ive decided that i can be arsed, so im gonna start remaking it. If your not into long posts, then dont read the whole thing, but u'll miss out if u dont.

Im sick of noobs asking me the basics of servers and ****ing everything up with ****ty servers. So here goes.


Server Exp: variable - Will start of Euro and increase according to the level you are and the mobs u fight. The basic idea is.

Lvl 1 - 5 would get normal EXP
lvl 5 - 10 Would get 3x EXP

and so on. This helps keep leveling steady, and also makes the curve of difficulty slope upwards slower, making the game progress in a smoother and more enjoyable way. It also means if a bunch of lvl xx players group and take on a mob meant for a higher level solo, they will get an EXP benefit etc.

Items: Items will as always be Low/Med stat. Items will remain as normal "Euromir" Items untill players hit the lvl 40+ Mark at which point the stats will significantly increase, and ontinue to do so from then on. Obviously sets and itesm for people below 40 will be added with extra stats etc, but these will be kept rare, and by rare i mean RARE, this will be a serverwide promise.

Economy: In most servers, there are no gold economies, and in the bigining i dont expect there to be any kind of Economy ingame, but as we develop GM's will play an active role in controlling the economy, by upping prices of services and such. So if we notice a certain pet being rented more often, its price will increase Due to demand and so on.

Land Control: The Idea of building and defending your own town was probably the most anticipated idea of the old server, and im pleased to say the new one will STILL have this contained. However, during the time that ive been apparently doing sod all, ive drastically improved the idea of Towns. The new Style is outlined below.

1. Instead of buying a special map and setting up a town there, players are now able to choose any map that does not have a town built on it as their home map. There are no other exceptions to this rule. Want to Build in wooma? You can, You can build anywhere, however, the problem you face is that you must first wage war on the inhabitents of the map and force them out. Then and only then can you build your town.

2. Building is done in "real-time" So if you want to build a new wall or increse security, plans are to be submitted to a GM, it then takes any time from 1-7 days to do the work depending on the size of the work, work in progress and other issues.

3. So youve got your town and a nice empty map, the only problem is the creatures youve forced out have nowhere to go, they invade other territories, form into groups and attack your town, Join forces with other mobs, and cause havok. (more info further down)

4. Town wars. Town wars were once a way for guilds to claim more lands and powers. At this point in time the idea is still under consideration, but the main problem i have with it is that i dont want to see something that someone worked for so long on, dissapear so qucikly to those more powerful. Therefore the new idea is that town wars wont actually let you claim the town as your own, but you will have open access to the region, and all of its services for a set period of time (yet to be determined)

Quests: The fun of questing, the only problem is, most quests on Servers, and indeed Euromir suck. They are poorly written, and the rewards are nothing spectacular. In all honesty i doubt i can provide good rewards, or write better. If a reward is good, everyone will get one, making it a normal item, which isnt actually good in the end. So if i cant improve these, the only option is to add a new element to quests.

1. Quests will continaully change; Item, NPC, conditions to complete may alter at anytime (however this will be done in a way that allows those who have started to complete)

1.1 Some quests will disspear from the game altogether, New ones will replace them with different and varied rewards.

This doesnt add much, so its time to turn the heat up and fire some real power into this.

Certain quests now act as "triggers" So when you complete "Quest X" that requires you steal "Item X" from "Boss X" There will be consequences, cos frankly i doubt bosses are cool with you stealing their stuff. Just got a great sword fropm defeating the Oma King? Dont be suprised if he tramp[les your village to get it back, In this respect quests will be dynamic and will require no GM intervention.

However this isnt enough for me, Becuase combined factors can really **** things up for you. For instance (fictional items used in example) Say you stole a Wooma map and build your town on it, then stole the Woomataurus's prized item, your gonna ahve some pretty ****ed off Wooma's, and hell is gonna break lose. This is where the game really evolves cos you get an event like "The Incarnation of Woomataurus" Where the entire game world is affected by your choice. Being the evil ******* i am, they wont all be fun either. Cos if u pissed off Woomataurus by stealing his items, he might steal from your guild (this WILL happen as part of an event at times), Its then up to you and your guild to kill the boss with what you can salvage, in order to reclaim your items from them.

Dynamic Environments: So people have slaughtered and slaughtered ZT loads of times, he aint gonna sit and take it, Wars will be waged and action taken. But this isnt enough. Creatures will now evolve when they are being killed to easy, they will go deeper underground, or build another floor on their temple, cahnge their mazes.

Piss off some creatures enough and they will resort to using powerful magic to create even more powerful bosses.

Everything in the server has some sort of dynamic and intricate string attached. Each Quests triggers something, whether it is just a txt file saying x number of people are managing something, or setting off a giant spawn of Minos in your town.

Each and every "Event" leaves a lasting mark on players and sometimes maps, becuase if ZT barricades up his temple, things will stay that way, if your castle is invaded in an event and loads of people die, your walls might start to crumble.

Everything and anything will affect the game.



---- this is all i cba to write at the moment, but this is like half of what i have planned for the server---- As you can see it is a giant project for me to undertake.

My current estimate for the latest release of the server is Mid-June, but dont qoute me on that becuase dates can cahnge easily.

I will continually provide updates and snippets for people as well as screenshots for when the tie for release drwas nearer. IM going to sort out a host myself (dont ask to be host cos im gonna try and get a webhost for it)

You almost, ALMOST got an award for being the only poster that wasnt stupid. Right up intil your ......... you were smart.


The exp INCREASES with your LEVEL.

1-5 = Euro EXP
5-15 = 3x EXP
15 - 25 5x EXP

THE EXP WILL KEEP INCREASING.

Im not gonna list the whole thing out becuase if you cant work it out for yourself, your obviously not smart enought to play mir and i dont want you on my server.

Craig^ - YOu dont want new mazes etc, may i ask why not? Is it that you dont want new features on a server? Or is it that you will find it too hard, and not play becuase u cant repeat the same process day in day out.

Also note, you wont be able to teleport to KR's, you WILL be able to teleport to temples and will get further in according to your level.

hehe ty m8 i guess - i dont think people wont new mazes because they dont know there way through them but who cares i wont new caves , more fun finding your way through new caves keep going m8 sounds brill :atpc: :)

another server by atomicide sounds gd, i think if it was you who made oblivion :) i played tha server when it first came out it twas quite gd

yeah i created oblivion, but this server is going into a whole league of its own. Its gonna be many times more appealing than oblivion!

Update: 09/05/05

Few things to factor on here.

1. The whole idea of god sets etc has been deemed stupid, and has been removed.

2. New Concept: Death is a serious problem. One thing ive noticed about all players on my private servers,a nd all private servers ive played, is that no1 seems to care to much if they die. If you die u generally get your kit back, or you can just tele back and continue as though nothing happened.

However, when you die on My server, items will break. Death will cause you problems, you wont just be able to tele back and reclaim your stuff. Obviously i dont want everything u own to break an so on, so im gonna see it it can be made random or some ****.

Also may make group hunting more valuable aswell as the unknown class... the taoist :rolleyes:.
