to get better text go onto google and type in "Cool Fonts" and youl get some pretty neat fonts
Not a bad pickie il give it a 6/10 for your first try maybe more in the pic would be nice but as you say its your first go at it
*Hints*
Put a Boarder around it and maybe your text bigger and more livelier(get some more fonts and make it look more attractive)
Give it another go once you have found some better fonts(Took me a while to find some)

if i download font do i have ot put them sumwhere?

not too bad. i like the bg as it looks like there is a pheonix or some bird there. fonts keep em simple and small. the one you have atm in you sig sucks ass. and the colou is bad. make it black. and add a 1pxl border around it.
i need to know how to make a border i've searched all the buttons and i cant find how to make a border
its easy.
ill show you how to do one like the one in my sig.
1st get you square marqee tool and drag a box around you sig like THIS
2nd press Ctrl+Shift+N to create a new layer.
3rd click edit and then stroke. E.G
4th then THIS box will pop up. for this we will use a black border. make sure its set as 1pxl (will be by default) and then change the location from outside to centre. then click ok
5th press Ctrl+D, and you will see that there is a black box around your sig.
last thing change the opacity to around 35-50% which ever looks ok.
and your done. obviously you have got the psd file for your sig so you can change text.
