What do you all think to this? Some pubs will be open 24 HOURS, and police think it will STOP all the trouble, and binge drinking, because they have more time to drink, they will take it steady.

I think its the stupedist comment ever. People wont drink more slowly because pubs are open longer?!?

It doesnt really bother me, as i go into town, and the clubs i go to are open untill 4am any way, but im usually home by 2/3am.

So whats your views?

Too me it wont be 24/7 anyway, as by law dont pubs have to be closed for a certain amount of time to clean up etc etc? Any way one pub near me has been given the go ahead for around the clock drinking, but i only drink till ive had enough then ill either stop or just go home, most people dont think that way tho.

Personally i think it would cut out alot of problems police have atm, street fighting etc on a friday/saturday night when thousands of people spill onto the street at the same time. On the other hand you'll still get the nob heads drinking way to much and ending up in hospital etc.

you say 24 hour drinking laws like every pub and club is gonna change to it.

first they need to buy a 24 hour license. and to say they are only giving out 1000 of them, to the biggest places. i highly doubt many of us will see light of this law any time in the near future.

Yeh only one 1000 but to a chain like whetherspoons thats a lot pubs.

I think it will be easier on the police but harder on the nhs.

Well theyre supposed to be being very strict about it, like if just one person is found drunk in the street then the bar could be shut down for 24 hours, which just seems stupid really because they'd have to kick the rest of the drunks out when they do it.

Its a bit of a dumbass solution to the drunk on the streets problem, thats for sure. And I sure cant see it working, but surely theres a drink per night limit?

Yeh they are being strict about it, 2 or pubs/clubs have been shut down in liverpool because they stayed open without actually having the license.

forgive me for being ignorant

but werent they trying to get rid of all the mess people are making on the street with urine, vomit, kebab mess etc. :P

so to "solve" this they allow 24 hour drinking

forgive me for being ignorant but isnt that sort of going to have the opposite effect and just mess the streets up with crime and drunks more now?

Yes it will.

Luckily i know my limits. Was in Blackpool friday night, work christmas party, went to town, came back to hotel around 2am, went to mates room with every1 for a few more drinks (He only had streight vodka :S), then went to another mates room (female), then went back to mine to sleep about 6. Thats latest ive been drinking for. I dont like feelin **** next day after been drunk and getting a couple of hours sleep.

But theres some people who will be out in town till 6am, causing trouble, pissin, vomiting, all over. Fighting etc

then whoever introduced this new idea is a stupid tard, by any chance does this person get tax and money from alcohol sales in pubs and clubs ;)

i mean was there even a big demand for 24 hour drinking?

i hadnt heard anything about this until some tard introduced this new idea.

i've been drinking beer at 6am still but that was in a mates house (it wasnt a good idea was fked the next day)

i mean i couldnt hang around town in clubs and pubs until 6am next day i would be so fkin bored i think i wud pass out with boredom, at least when i was drinking at my mates until 6am, from about 7pm the previous day, there was mroe forms of entertainment.

Well we started with about 10 of us. We then split up as the club played diff types of msuic on diff floors. We lost every1, was just me, kayleigh and Azar, me n kayleigh was bored, and Azar wanted 2 stay in club, so we went back, then was just sat in bar at hotel.

A club is good, but get boring after a few hours. and when your pissed you just wanan relax n that... well i do

Kud firstly calling the person whoever introduced this new law a tard is just proving your ignorance. Yes our country is run by blood thirsty politicians but by no means are they stupid.

Everything that has been discussed (if thats what you can call it on this forum) in this thread has been turned over and looked at from every different angle by various boffs. They dont just let any old tool make a law and put it in place without first breaking it down and looking at the pro's and cons. Yes they are probably just lining their pocket, why should it matter now they have been doing it since governments were put in place.

As to cleaning the streets, i believe they think that drinkers will take it more slowly because of the extended hours therefore decreasing the amount that will actually throw up. I assume they think that once everyone has left the pubs/clubs they will go home because they have had enough and it is late/early as a pose to turfing everyone out at the same time who are pissed yes but want to drink more which can only lead to fighting etc. All of this is based around the majority as it does require a level of self control that some people just havent got.

All of the above is what i have heard and therefore cant prove its reliability, but who really knows the reasons? not the public thats for sure.

Its all very well giving your oppinions and i respect that but please realise that you might not be right, hell i might not be right. Uneducated oppinions are all very well and provide good discussion topics but they are rarely right.

I personally think it's bad, because drinking results in lack of control. Hell, I've done it once already, before the 24 hour licensing the clubs kicked out at 2am, that's when it was time to goto bed and get up for work at 8am, now, before you know it. BOOM, it's 7am and you start work in an hour as you down your 15th pint.

We got two clubs here in sheffield, they have been open till 6am for years now.

Now the 24 hour drinking wont effect them, but you just have to look at them for example of what happens...

Last week, police raided one, they had to put the bus service on... for the police to get on to get to the club!!

Every1 dropped there drugs on floor, leaving a 2cm floor of drugs. Weed, Cocaine, Pills, what ever else.

One person was shot in stomache.

Every week nearly, theres a shooting/stabbing/murder.

Now, 24 hour drinking for rest of pubs, the same could happen all over.
