Hi. I am using Windows Xp, and I have got 2GB HDD space left out of 19GB. I have gone to add/remove programs, but I still have little space left on my HDD. Where can I go deep into the system to delete big files, please? To free up more room...?

Kind regards

go into your C: first
right click on each folder and goto properties... it should tell you the size of each folder...

First of all go to C:\WINDOWS\Temp - most of that you won't want (just files you clicked "Open" when downloading), delete Internet Cookies and Files.

That's all I do to keep my space down a bit.

Why would you want to delete the registry... You will mess up your comp

Do what pebble said.

Also maybe look into buying a 40+ GB Hard drive...20gb one's are useless nower days really, especially now that there are loads of new games and that out etc.... I am using a 20 gig one atm because my 40 gig one has corrupted sectors and tht :( But i am hoping to get a 120 one soon because 20 gig gets filled up almost instantly -_-

all my mir files take over 20gig altogether. :l

cant you do ''Disk Cleanup''

Then do a ''Defrag''

I like Windows OneCare's Tuneup, Disk Cleans, then defrags then checks for viruses and updates from windows. Gets it all done for me once a week

P.s Got my normal drive whats in comp which is 250gig, then a external what i use for transfering and just general backing up which is 200gig

there is a add and remove programs. But you have to find what's taking up all the space as it aint always just software. He says he looked in there and deleted alot but the size doesnt add up so he doesnt know whats chunking his space up i think.

P.s

A 40gig hard drive wouldnt be much inless your having it for a laptop, then it gets abit more expensive.
but if possible go for higher. New games come out all time, some take like 4gig etc.
Get a few good games on your comp and 40gig can be soon gone.

my 180gb drive is 90% full and iv got hardly anything on it. just remove program you dont want, recieved files, downloads u dont need. its tedious but it will free up space, theres no quick way about it. u cant just delete a whole folder and expect your pc to work correctly, u have to delete them to propper way.
