A Beginners Introduction

So I have seen a fair few new players start on this game, and there are always the same questions asked by them (I pretty much just come on to talk to people)

I hope I can help the lowbies that use the forum so they don't lose interest in the game!


Where/How do I make money?

In short the best is mining (I hate to say it!) in Mineral Mine you mine the nodes, any plat ore Quality 12+ sell in trust merchant, you can either just farm for loads of these or get a bag full and keep coming back, making more smaller amount of cash but less farm time in the mines.

Where do I level?

It's dependant on your class and level, generally, follow the bounty board quests and main quest line (especially for the low levelling areas)
If you are good at mass killing (Warrior with halfmoon or wizzie) ST tends to be a great spot.
Assassins and Archers generally PSC as they can take out single targets (post 25)
Taoists usually level quicker with a partner / group

Where can I get good items?

Personally, I am not sure what has good drops at present, as they have been adjusted since I really properly hunted, if I wanted items, I would just farm gold until I could just buy it (any advise on this would be great from the people who actually know?
(Real EvilTongs in BugCave, Real WhiteEvilBoars in Stone Temple tend to drop half decent!)


General about late game

I have to be honest, for me it's currently a bit lack luster (but 1.9.6 patch is coming out with new areas...woop!)
It's more about 'boss' farming (basically the bosses no one camps), as I can't commit 100's of hours to levelling a level or two, this is what is most worrying for me, if the new players do get to this point 43+, like me they will probably just drop out.

The only way late game is interesting is if you get in a guild that does a lot of guild hunts, and there are only 2 that seem to be able to do them (TKO and Team) the rest is just about themselves rather than the guild as a whole.

1.9.6 may sort this out somewhat with better exp mobs and such but I do warn new players that 1-40 stage is easy, then you basically hit a brick wall >.<

Real WEBs are insanely hard. I wouldn't mention them in a thread for newbies.

Real evil tongs I killed 10 in one hour for the quest and it made me 200k which is good for a low level plus exp I agree with lance, ST is a real pain in KR they are quite hard to take down.

There aren't 10 real ETs spawning an hour. IIRC real ones only spawn in LDC/FPC, so max 8/hr (2 maps x 2 real ETs every 30 mins) :P

The real ones spawn in all of the original floors pre 1.4 euro.

so you the 2 second floors N_ i thinkt hey called.
then the 2 floors following that. and then ldc has 2 so your looking at 6 guarenteed real ones. then the fpc ones lost middle and the off branches to those all have fakes with a chance of real if im correct.

They're not real, BH confirmed it 3 times I think. Only past 4th. The fakes on 1 & 2 drop better/more consistently though.

Do the quests. Do the repeatable quests until you cant do them anymore and then do the next repeatable quests.
You will be rewarded with exp and gold and items which are often better than anything that drops for that level.
You don't have to do the quests in the order they become available you can level a bit and go back to them but they will take you to most of the caves so you can find out which ones you like to hunt and which are most efficient and which drop the most gold and items.(not always the same)
This might slow down your levelling speed but only a little.
Choice is level fast and be broke hoping for the one get rich quick drop. Buy gold from dodgy sellers - unless you have been doing this regularly on many mirs from a trusted seller. They are having a tough time here because the team are on them fast. Thanks guys they are the worst disease of online gaming.
Join the noobie guild shout for quest or levelling buddies in town then in the quests cave. Its quicker n easier to do quests in a group.
Solo is about the boringest part of the game unless its your chosen preference for solitude to unwind. or some ocd type mind.
For Quest infor, Press Q then bottom right >>>> of that window click Show More button. Tells you where you can get more quests.

theres a good bug cave quest thats good money and later on theres a good PSC quest there both repeatable. You only get the exp the first time you do the quest after that when you hand the quest in you will just get the gold. PSC when higher is a pretty good place for drops too.

I JUST SAID THAT
Do the quests, do the repeatable quests. Press Q for quest info ingame. Press the SHOWMORE button >>>>>side at the bottom of the Quest info window. That tells you what quests you can start and where the NPCs are.
Is there anything else needs explaining?
Oh yeah the repeatable quests have the word Repeatable after them.
The ones that say Group after them don't have to be in a group but they are a bit harder to solo. You can try now or wait til yr a higher level n go back.
PS most quests are do able solo but much much more efficient to do them in a group
