SKC a Panel of judges is what we got atm and trust me it isnt working, coz in my eyes Optica is not a good gfx person (no offence but true) and 2 leave it down to his disgression i feel is idiotic, 1 optica isnt a well known person on this forum, 2 optica is hardly ever on now and if is on does not show himself, 3 why should a mod have all the right 2 say if a siggy is bad or good? the only reason your mod in the first place is to correct errors and sort problems, not to judge on peoples work? so my view is Panel of judges is a bad idea.

No, not true, it's an opinion, not fact.

This forum does need a more active mod (entire OT section (apart from PC help) needs more active mods), the recent flame-wars between certain members have not been dealt with well or quickly enough.

The panel of judges doesn't work because they don't act like a panel. Judges are supposed to discuss the submissions and then base the results on what they each thought. They're not supposed to give a list of the 3 entries that they liked best and leave it at that. I can understand why Optica chose to recruit more judges (to take some of the strain off) but unless they're going to do their jobs properly then it won't work. The other alternative is to let the people vote on which one they think is best. Take all of the entries, put them into one post and then have a poll to let people decide. That way, we wouldn't have these petty arguments in every other post, it'd be fair, easier, anonymous and we wouldn't have people vying for the position of Judge (as I can see someone doing right now).

i disagree, the panel of judges system would work, but Optica never seems to be on to give his opinions, and I don't have his email addy to contact him. Therefor i cant ask his opinion on the entries. So when the SOTW has been closed for over 3days I'm not going to sit there and do nothing. Which is why i said MentaL was the winner this week.

a public vote wouldn't work, as someone has already said someone may ask everyone on their msn list to vote for them. now could every1 stop having a fking go at me because Digital didn't win. the majority of u didnt even like his siggy and you're still complaining!

but holy that would lead 2 more arguements, n its not a hoinst result as it can be maliptated (sp) o.0 in many ways, example of sum is: askin on msn for everyone 2 vote yours through a link..happens alot, other is making more then just 1 new account and logging into each one and voting for it. if we was going to do it that way i recon all voting polls should have the People View so people can see who click what choice that way we can see if accounts have been dubed and also who voted what and can pinpoint msn votes.

Maby it just needs aload of ways chucked 2gether with sum time and people 2 find a solution to a nearly flawless way of doing it.
