A Specific Head-unit For Future Car

I'm looking to buy a car very soon. And i've noticed there has been a few threads that i have found helpfull so i thought i'd ask this here. I am looking for a headunit in which i can plug a BEHRINGER XM8500 (Microphone) into it in which when i talk into it, it will come through my speakers. It is an actual microphone, not one that can plug into a PC. I've been told i should buy a headunit with a AUX input then use a converter or something. Any help appreciated.

DONT go to halfords.

If you can find a converter some where, then look at Sony head units. Mine has an Aux input and a card reader. There pretty cheap, and decent for their price too.

Never seen a PC specific microphone myself, I can plug my headset into my brothers decks :P

Just needs a head unit with an aux.

halfords was just an egsample personally i wouldnt go there to buy anything prices are sky high and quality is low and managers are stuck up but have a look around on the net etc.

well depends on the mic, and the head unit inputs, i don't know if a head unit can accept a standard line input, and if the mic uses XLR cables then your even more screwed quite frankly..if you find a head unit which has a line input of some kind then you can build from that

It is XLR i think, i have a converter so it fits into my computer. So surely it most work for a headunit (a different converter of course).

it really does depend on the head unit..as long as it supports the line input it should work..
i really cannot understand why you're doing this, what are you going to do with a mic in your car?

also does the mic run off batteries or does it require +48v phantom power?

now if you get that head unit, you need to get a mic that's compatible with it..a standard battery operated mic would be fine.. but a mic requiring phantom power wouldn't work on that..

i believe the Behringer mic you specified is just a normal dynamic mic so i'm guessing it runs on batterys..

Lol, i like to beatbox (alot). So if every i feel to jam with my m8s could just plug the mic into my car and away we go . Erm, nah it doesnt run on batterys and yes it's XLR.

erm well i don't know what kind of input connector that head unit has, you're better off getting the head unit first..then you know what exactly you need to buy.

But seriously dude, is it really worth all this effort? when you could just stay at home or go to somewhere and beatbox?
doing this you're
1. going to cause an accident
2. look like complete bellends
3. making your car interior look **** being ripped to pieces

also think about the car before you think about buying head units..important bit first
