Hi Stavros,
The Taoist class, will be a support class but will have sufficient skills to stand on its own two feet when the scenario requires it to.

From what i experienced during the beta phases you can quest or grind, but i do advise doing the first few starter quests to get your horse.

You are not forced to quest, however they are there to support players that wish to follow a story line, and are often rewarding.
How long does a Hunter's pet last?
For example, the FireDragon has a High Cooldown, if it lasts until it dies that would be fine, but it if only lasted for 5 minute, would be pretty Meh.

Is ShoulderDash still the way I coded it (Direction of Mouse cursor), or has it been changed to reflect the traditional way (Player Direction)
this was changed in the C# code i think. they want the code to be as official as they can get... doesnt work for as as official ended at like level 50 on euro lmao.
