Hey guys i was looking the other day at computer prices and how much they have increased over time to paying like 2k plus for a decent computer. I then did research into how less expensive they are to make and was looking at sites such as the following:

http://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/computers/intel-home-office-pc/

How much would it cost for a website designer/coder to produce something like this? with a min price and max price you guys reckon, i know its hard to guess with out a quote but there must be some indication.

you would be looking at from about £300+, the top mark would be around £800/£900 as it is only very basic.

Thanks for that info, i know it sounds tight and things but i want one made for around 200£ as a start up because if it does fail i don't want to burn a huge hole in my pocket, as i only have a 500£ setup budget. Yet again it sounds tight, but i don't want to shoot myself if you get me.

Your £500 setup budget isn't going to get you anywhere, not even cost for parts.

just work like a reseller. You have a customer whos chosen a certain build, you allow a total of say 3 days to build and deliver it. Then simply purchase those parts from another company (obviously at a lower price) build it and deliver it.

Your only margin would be how much you're charging to build the computer, i'd say maybe making £20-£50 profit per PC.

which is back to my point if hes charging 20-50 , hes gotta b building 1-2 computers a day to even make it worth it , which aint gunna happen.

any dick and tom can build a pc , ive just built a i7 950 . never built or installed anything major on a pc before and first time and its up and running.

Well my idea is it isn't a full time Job and The first Year i will have to pull over a 600£ to make a profit. Also, i would have to make at least 48£ a year to cover Hosting.

So it doesn't seem that hard, i can build the computers in 45Mins. i have several sites i can set up accounts with and supply me with the pieces.

building computers isn't really the hard part people struggle with, its finding the correct components. i design builds for customers every day, on average i get around 15 people a day wanting a recommendation on the correct parts. theres not a lot of profit in it, but for a part time job it could bring in a little money.

Building PCs is a hobby, not a job ;)

Doesn't really matter if it's only bringing in a bit of cash, it's a good thing to do on the side.
