17+ Accounts have been compromised because they have used the same ID and Password as they did on other servers.

I have a short list of "suspected" servers based on what the players who have been compromised have played

  • MirRevenge
  • 5Heroes
  • Affinity
  • Ascendancy

Note, This may not be the complete list and will be updated when needed
Note 2, That I am not accusing any of these server owner's or their integrity, just letting people know whats going on and any probably cause.

YOU ARE ULTIMATELY RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR OWN ACCOUNT.

EDIT: The confirmed person was Littletommy(?) and their server was Mir Ascendancy.

Couldn't see Jamie doing that he can't even run his own server, he hate mir and hasn't played for years he has no links left on mir to sell the items if he did do it.Ben's to respect and had made far to much £ from his servers to rob someone over few hundred pounds ( none of top tiers have been hacked so its not going to be crazy money made ) plus i've played Mir with Ben for years on Mir he'd much rather gain his own stuff than rob somebody else's. ( matt and hany may have details to server but 100% they wouldn't they have no interest in mir )Azzi doesn't seem like he'd do that but i don't know him very well. That leaves one =] Just my opinion , Lomcn wont seem to let me put that in bullet points so sorry for the horrid read

I can confirm that one of those Servers listed has been flagged with the IP provided. I have now provided the information to Jamie, and currently awaiting Tai's response before anymore information is provided.

I recommend everyone CHANGE their password to something completely different.

Why would you even use the same account details on multiple servers?

Simplicity, stupidity. Call it what you want. Let's not focus on victim shaming. Focus on the issue, and just hope that people are clever enough to learn and not use the same details.

The confirmed person was Littletommy and their server was Mir Ascendancy. I recommend anyone who played this server to change their password.

Can we have some info on why this is 'confirmed' before we start a witch hunt? Not that I disbelieve you personally of course

probably depends where the stolen items ended up. if they still stockpiled on 1 char might be easy enough to trace back and return. If sold to an unsuspecting buyer, quite difficult to reverse.

Using the same Id and password, in such a small nit community like this, when it has been known to happen many times over different servers, comes down to poor account security by the account holder. Live and learn from the experience, stop using the same ID and password for everything

I've mentioned before that I don't think it's an idea to blame/punish the victims. Should the police not investigate a theft from someones house as the front door was left unlocked?

But it doesn't mean they get their stuff back. If it's easy it would seem silly not to do it, but I suppose 'live and learn' isn't really 'punishing them'

Also, what we doing with littletommy?

It's not about blaming victims, it's about emphasising the importance of using different credentials from server to server (something we have advised for years) to prevent this.

What does this entail?

I'm just imagining you sitting in a dimly lit room, with a cigarette in one hand puffing away whilst nodding your head at the IP matches.

with an Eye Patch + Scar across that side of the face, and petting an evil looking cat sitting on his lap.
