I havn't been on the server for a few weeks now.
I'm just wondering if the lagg situation has had chance to be looked into yet?

At first I thought it was just me who was lagging, but it turns out a few others noticed it too.
Its not normal lagg, its a kind of server-side delay e.g. (Normal 2.3 runs at x1000, and ace runs at x750) [THIS IS MADE UP]. So your char laggs and the whole server has a kind of delay from the running speed of 2.3 / heros etc.
You will only really notice the difference if you log onto a 2.3 server and run around, then log into ace and run around.

The server files are outstanding and by far the best release to date, but this is the only big down-side for me sadly :'(
(This is not a slate post btw)

Cheers in advance :k

I'm assuming this is due to its current hosting and the server getting to its capacity(peaking up to 100 or so atm) So I'm sure when their new dedi is in place it will be stable again.

Sorry posted that before reading entirely but still may be the issue I guess ^

To me it kind of seems like your bag is over weight, but thats just for me thats the kind of lag i get i dunno if anyone else gets the same kind of lag, its strange.

@Nemo: Its not normal lagg like that I think.
Its a bag/char weight lagg ^.^

@Smidge: Yeah thats exactly it Smidge,
It seems like permanent bag weight lagg just not quite as bad.

Could you both please post your Operating system / specs? (and anyone else that gets this)

Might be able to shed some light on the matter. Also helps the devs narrow down the problem.

ah its the 'steppy-ness' while you're moving. This is something I've noticed too and the more you notice it while running the more annoying it gets. lol

Rather than the environment moving smoothly behind your char as you go along, it moves like 1cm(on my monitor as an example) at a time. like the overweight lag does. Think Mir has always done this tbh, its just how its rendered out. Doesn't mean it can't be improved though.

heh ye in window mode you can see the 'slow' background movement quite badly
basicaly as far as i can tell this is a typical mir thing, just normaly you didnt notice it this much

when you move your screen only moves every x frames/coords (to match the lack of frames your char move has)
this translates in the game appearing to jump rather then move fluid

I got told today its due to the GM's trying to make everyone the same speed, so anyone over that speed will automatically get this kind of lagg. Im not 100% sure if its true or not.

This does occur but i dont think its the problem that's being highlighted in the previous posts.

Ive recently joined the server started a tao and everything seemed really smooth weapon strikes / walking / running (even mounted) but for some reason as soon as i reached level 11 my char sort of has a hard to explain bag weight lag sort of like 2 step but without the freezing

one thing i did notice was this happened upon death i was fine half way through level 11 died and then soon as i revived in town it happened at first thought it might be to do with low hp/mp but topping them up didnt help

i then re-logged twice both using logout and exit with no success

making a new char on the same account at level 1 and he runs smooth.

*Edit* i found out that Removing LightArmour(F) sorts the problem out but once re-equipt the weird walking lag is back i have tried purchasing another LA(F) but still same, BaseDress(f) is normal so im guessing its a db problem

*Edit2* afked in town for around 45 mins then went off to hunt still same problem with light armour giving me a type of bag weight lag killed a few mobs and levelled to 12 and it disappeared all was smooth just got level 13 and its back Hope this is shining some light on the issue all other movements i.e attacking magic are fine just walking/running is getting affected think you need to check bag/body/hand weight against char levels.

I've just bought a brand new PC with half decent specs, so it shouldn't really be a PC problem ><

Intel Core i7 quad core
4gb NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 680
8GB RAM
1TB HDD
850W Corsair power supply
Windows 7

K you're not using any VM software I assume and with that setup, running Mir fine. Had you been on an XP tweaked machine it may have been the cause (speed-cheat fix), but you're not so it's most certainly not that.

Interesting post above, can anyone reproduce this with their own armour?

fine i'll reply again:
i completely admit i have had quite a bit of messing about with speeds related to trying to finetune a way of catching speedhacks.
there's systems in place to somewhat detect it, however: there's no system that actualy slows you down when you're to fast (it just warns atm)

this wouldnt be casuing any issues with me tho and i think my issue is entirely separate, from what i can work out just being a user its a body weight issue with certain kits and levels atm i have a feeling that its just lower levels as these values (body/bag/hand) increase as you level.

but certainly at lvl 11-13 and wearing normal tao items for that level range puts my body weight over it doesnt actually say its over says 18/19 or 19/20 at levels 11 & 13 but the lag is definatly the same as when body weight is over as i have purposely increased it to check if its the same outcome.

mite be worth just bumping up the body/bag/hand by 2 or 3 for the first 15-20 levels its only 1 or 2 out by the looks i.e at level 13 removing 1ring and a torch put me to 18/20 and correctly running but re-equipting the ring or torch so im 19/20 body weight and im running slow again

minor issues really as the first 15 levels are fairly quick something to defo look into tho just incase it reproduces at later levels.

I was getting this exact same bug too. I assumed it was becoz i was using a generic onboard video driver. Updating to directx10 has made it slightly better (But unsure as to what changes you've been doing behind the scenes). Hopefully it can be resolved , feels very very sluggish at times.
