+1 for ublock origin, I'm on edge with ublock origin ext.
heard good things about the Brave browser as well for anti-tracking/ads etc

I have both, ublock origin and adblock plus installed in Opera and now in Vivaldi browser only ublock origin since that works enough. Both of these browsers also come with inbuilt ad blocking as probably do most browsers these days, probably that might be enough blocking for most folks.

I don't notice any conflicts at all having both those extensions alongside the inbuilt protection in Opera. YT runs fine without any ads, except those that some channel owners choose to insert themselves in their video.

Ublock origin has a great feature where you can select an element on webpage to block it, even if it is not an ad.

Chrome is adding something called manifest V3 which will make adblockers useless.

It looks like Firefox would get huge boost, I certainly would return to it if what you say it true and these browsers won't be able to overcome it.

Firefox was the browser I used many years ago but then it seemed rather musty and I started using other browsers, Brave, Opera, Vivaldi... really shifted from Brave when I overloaded it with tabs and what not and it developed some ill behavior. I liked OperaGX for its spiffy colored interface plus it worked well for me, Vivaldi switch was due to try out some of its features, also because logging into some webpages didn't agree with Opera (I think QNAP NAS, Ubiquity network management I think was also touchy about which browser they support, probably something else of the kind too made me use Vivaldi browser.

🤔 am i only person who spends 10-15 seconds watching the ads?

I wouldn't care about 10-15 secs. On my TV I'm using the official Youtube app and sometimes I have to watch 50 sec ads every 5 minutes or so. If they keep pushing abusive ads I'll end up switching to an app without ads too.

Oh I forgot. Usually several seconds before the ads end they add a long ad, like 1 minute long and you have to skip it manually and I have to keep my remote up my ass all the time.

If you're using YouTube so often, would becoming a YT Premium member not be of benefit? Sure there is a 3 month trial through Xbox game pass, or there was at least.

AdBlockPlus seems to give me the same hassle, I’ll make the switch to ublock.
Yeah Adblock plus was my 2nd attempt at finding one. Ublock seems to be working nicely. Thanks for suggestion5

I don't use it that much to be paying 12€/month. And Google makes already enough money from me.

That's fair, though if you do have the Xbox pass, I would recommend seeing if the offer is still available for a 3 month trial and take advantage.
