Just curious, as I'm amazed at the lucking ability of dragonswords. Does anyone know if when you use a benediction oil it takes into account the added stats on a weapon, or does it simply use the base stats as if it was plain and had not been refined. (I know it works on the difference between base and max DC).

There is a dragonsword luck +7 with a 22 DC gap between top/bottom, which is the same as getting luck+7 45 assassin blades or a luck+7 heavensword. However when benes have been used on the latter two they seem to be far, far less effective.

Base stats are what are taken into account.

its not base stats it high end DC that is taken into account. all warrior weapons have <10 DC base or very low base.

Lucking weapons is based on the difference between the base and the max dc. So a Dsword is 7-22 meaning a 15stat differential. The 15 is what's important when taking into account lucking.

If you decide to refine a Dsword to 7-30, I'm fairly certain when lucking it still thinks its 7-22 (base stats). Whether or not this is supposed to happen or not, I don't know. (This is what they're talking about when they say base stats, craig)

You've misunderstood what I mean by base. What I'm asking is, does a 7-22 dragon sword have the same chance to luck as a 7-29 dragon sword. Because all of these refined weapons luck extremely well, even though they have equivalent DC gap (how ability to luck is calculated) to 43 blades which are extremely hard to luck.

Hyperviper used 160 benes on his dragonsword, he got to luck 6 twice and back down to luck 1.

He then did luck 1 to luck 7 in 40 benes. It's all luck :)

Make that 2x luck 7 dragonswords, and 2x luck 6 dragonswords ingame (neither have tried for luck 7)

I've used about 20 bene's on my dsword (I know it's not loads) but its never gone above luck+1. They have either done nothing or cursed... Lol

I had similar with my fate blades. used over 130 and ended up on luck 2 =/ highest was 4.
Its hit and miss.

I do think added stats should be taken into account, but its too late to change it if they are not.

359 and I did luck 6 on my fate sword 1 bene and I went to luck 7! The most effective benes were the ones dropped from bosses, could be coincidence but that's what happened.

A bene is a bene! They all have the same code and mechanism so doesn't matter where they come from or whether you smash 100 in a row or 5 every hour.

However I do understand that people like to have their little methods.

1-2 DC wep = easy 1 DC dif from base to max
0-20= harder
0-100= impossible, will stick at luck 1...2 Max
99-100= easy
You see the pattern?
Base to Max DC difference affects the bene sucess rate, I'm guessing it works off DC on mc\sc weps too, unless they changed it to %.
