tbh i know countless people who have now gone off playing this server myself included

they might be able to do some cool things to it coding and script wise but to make it a closed beta for only 15/20 people when you have kept all these people waiting months & months after telling them v2 would be up in a couple of weeks ... well cant get much more of a f**k you to everyone who has checked the forums everyday and hung on for an E.T.A than that.

Initially i had nothing but good things to say about acem2 / chronicals but your lack of communication and forthcoming has ruined a very promising looking server for me and no doubt a fair few others.

I dare say this post will have been removed by morning ....

*sigh*

If server would of came up in 2 weeks after Ace, it would be a totally different server to what we have now.
What you need to remember is we have added 2 new classes + a load of other features / content, Im sorry but if people expect 2 new class's and everything else we have done in 2weeks or even 2months, you are being totally unrealistic. As for testing, its a well known fact that people who play during beta periods don't want to lose all their progress they have made when leveling, and there are people who would rather sit out a beta for this reason (which is understandable) , with open beta it comes to a point that the majority of players wont want a wipe, and refuse to redo the progress they have achieved.
This is a creates a dilemma of either wiping (which makes people unhappy) or continuing server from beta (which means any bugs during beta that wasn't picked up quick enough are not removed, so any players who gained considerable amounts of exp/items/gold from these bugs are thus not removed for an even playing field).

Bugs / Testing are apart of any game, we currently have a very dedicated team of testers who are doing a fine job.

Then that's their dumb fault if they level without expecting a wipe. I'm pretty sure doing an open beta with a wipe at end will be in everyone'ss best intrest, and get the server ready for release 5 times faster then this closed beta will. Not doing open beta just because of that excuse is a bit of a cop out imo. And if they want to sit out because of a wipe, let them, why does it matter if a few people won't participate, your already excluding 99% of people anyway. Personally I don't see any negatives for opening it to all but that's just me.

The difference between Open and Closed doesn't exist when it comes to servers, let's be honest. We've all come to know Closed means a wipe, Open doesn't. Even in official gaming companies these days they let prob 80% of their player base into the games for Closed BETA (One that gets wiped), they give out keys like sweets lol! You're restricting access for a reason, and we all know it's not for "our best interest". Our best interest is finding bugs asap and getting this out and on the road, can be done 50x faster with the bigger player base

Call it Closed and let everyone in, simple as that.

Don't want to be wiped? Don't fking play.

The thing that pisses people off when you wipe, is the fact you say you're not going to....THAT is what makes ME quit. If you opened this and said "We WILL be wiping this when it's finished being tested" I either won't play, or won't grind or level properly but take my time and explore.

If you said "We WON'T wipe" and I grind, level, gain items etc and you end up wiping....that's 80% of your player base gone.

Face it, your execution at releasing this server is beyond a joke and it's not making any of you look good as a server team. Who gives a fk if people bitch and cry about a wipe IF you have said it WILL happen? It's there own fking fault and you can sit there and say "We told you so". The majority of your population will still play as they wouldn't have even bothered until it was ready.

I personally wouldn't play an "Open" beta if you stated a wipe would occur at the end, cause I don't like to burn myself out, but thats my choice.

So you have added a lot of content that needs to be tested.. That is why it has been delayed right? So surely with all the added content, 20 people just wont be able to test it all... There really is no reason to limit the beta... By doing this your just hurting the future of the server.

I also need to make something clear.. Yes I as many here would like to play the beta.. But I am also patient and can wait... I just know by your method, if the servers do indeed go live, plenty more potentially damaging bugs will surface

This is my last comment on this matter as I'm just going to be patient like everyone else; but let me say this:

Doing what you've done (cutting off 90% of people from playing during the beta) angers people MORE than if you were to allow it to be a complete open beta (with confirming there's a wipe)

Let me explain.

Lets take hoody for example, who's probably the perfect example. He'd play the open beta and have a great time and level up and probably geek it out. Then when the wipe comes, he'll cry and moan and probably choose not to play.

GOOD. These types of people, who were told there would be a wipe, then threaten to leave due to a wipe? Are morons. Firstly, it's empty threats - you can bet my left nutsack they'll rejoin and replay because they have nothing better to do with their life, but most importantly: if they don't rejoin, that's 1 moron less on the server, 1 moron less to bother you about pointless stuff, 1 moron less to make your life easier.

Doing a closed beta like this, you're just pissing off the decent/loyal Mir players who would love to test the game for you (knowing a wipe is coming and wouldn't care) AND the morons at the same time. Negatively effecting your server, the community and peoples opinions from the get go.

I know me telling you this isn't going to change anything; but I hope whoever thought the closed beta was a better idea reads this and understands the impacts it has had on the community.

This is why my gut feeling says this server won't last, because of poor decisions such as this. Please, please prove me wrong. I want this server to be the next revolution of Mir and I'd like to enjoy playing on the first server these files have to offer.

so i have looked at a few of the posts on this thread skipped a lot of the walls of text.

i have been checking the forums daily waiting for this server to come online. when the beta contest came along i was happy thinking the live date was coming soon. i got selected as a beta tester which awesome no lie. i am disabled so i didnt have much to do while i waited as i dont like 3d games. you all need to just chill a bit. the reasons for the 20 person beta???? i had no idea until the first day we logged in. this game in my opinion is way off from going live. the 20 of us testing have been able to find more bugs then the team can even keep up with. the team is normally always on, observing everything we do. dont think they could keep up with many more people and after a certain number people are just going to come up with the same bugs. they have fixed a lot in 2 days and i can imagine the work involved. im just glad they dont let this community get to them because i would have thrown in the towel with all the crap posts. with jamies c# server ending we are losing people that do this as a hobby and are going to be left with fk all. so please relax with the hater post as its not going to change much, whats done is done. take it or leave it but dont waste your time hating it.

wanted to thank the team for all the hard work they doing over the holidays

merry xmas and happy new years to everyone. hope you have a fun and safe holiday

im disappointed not everyone could play beta before the server was live but if 20 people will clear most of the bugs before its online for all so be it but with more people to explore would be faster imo sooner the better good luck.

Funniest thing is, all the ones in bold could have been found by logging onto the server themselves...these "bugs" you're finding isn't showing their inability to code....it's showing their inability to run a server and complete even the most basic of tasks

maybe they started the beta to soon, thank god it was closed beta and not open then even tho thats what everyone is bitching they should have done. and as for the second part makes no sense to me (i might just be stupid). sam ran ace solo at the end til milo couldnt pay for the dedi anymore, people wanted him to keep that server up and now he has an inability to run a server? really? i could keep typing but your just going to find something negative to hold onto and jerk your lil **** and even this responce probably will get you a stiffy. so keep trolling son because no one really cares that much about anything you say just other trolls.

a special merry xmas to you =)

This.
+ the fact that only a handfull of ppl (if they still play) will know right from the start what's the best way to lvl / make gold / do quests / what drops what , etc.
+ it would've been much faster and much more " ground covered " if everyone could test
Good luck anyways

Closed beta and only allowing 20 people on the server at a time makes it more manageable for us. It provides us with the oppertunity to have one on one conversations with the testers and get a better understanding of what has gone wrong, instead of 50 people reporting the same bug in a slightly different way.

I have seen a lot of people saying the server is a while off release, what I don't think has yet been understood is (and this was previously mentioned) the testers are finding minimal code defects/bugs which is what we primarily wanted to test... Envir and fixing small things like maps/mobs can be done in less than a day... Fixing massive game breakers can take weeks.

I invite you all to remain patient and stay classy.

my point is after watching the streams is why are they running about leveling on **** thats been in the game for years and hasnt been changed! they should be testing the new stuff!

some testers atleast should be covering higher level areas and spells! why do they need to hunt for new spell drops to test it? they can still test drop rates with all the skills and also see how balanced new skills are!

I think it's been good that we've been "forced" to play the starting content as it is intended. By the looks of it a lot of thought and time has been put into the new starting map and quest system. I know a private Mir server will not attract many new players that have never played Mir before but it is a good intro to the game for those that have never played or have not played in a long time to get back into the game. The quest system points you in the right direction and even rewards you with your mount, first few skill books and some items at the start.

I'm level 25 now on closed beta, have come to a dead end with many of the quest lines due to bugs, ran out of gold 4 times (had to farm Oma Warriors for sun pots to sell) and am currently sitting in town afk lvling skills. I'm certainly now at a point where what I can test is limited but from what I understand the devs intend to allow us to increase our levels with a NPC in an upcoming patch which will open up more content for us to test.

I'm not saying the system in place is perfect or even close to it but so far I'd like to think the testers have done their "job" and hopefully the bugs we've found will have a positive effect on the server.

would it not be a good idea to get few more people in closed beta? like doing a few waves of players to get beta over and done with quicker and bugs found alot faster? just a idea
