Just to add a pro for the child call system.

It enables us to split the drop files into grouped sections, for example:

traditionally you would have:
BigRat
BigRat0
BoneArcher
BoneLord
BoneElite

The child call system would enable:
ZumaTemple/BigRat
ZumaTemple/ZumaArcher
PrajnaCave/BoneArcher
PrajnaCave/BoneLord

It provides a better level of organization and is easier to navigate (in my opinion).

I like that, however it is only really needed for organisation if you want to quickly find and edit a file.

My suggestion which I'll go over with BH later would involve editing a master and then regenerating all the files and just dropping them on the dedi.

if you ar idiot u ar but ive been killing orcs like 2 monts now only saw like 3-4 mass drops and that were whith pots and few lvl 22 armour yes cant say the bosses dont drop nice but mobs dont drop fk all so stop complaining about thigs u really dont know all the caves and mobs ouutside caves need fixing like bdd zt pt psc places pb orc jinchon ancient forest ice all need 2 get fixed from scrath the mass drops oreve the normal drops i know people who grinded 30-40 days straight in pb and he had 1 dragon ring thats not really funy most of people ar 40 dont u see they all wear coral rings and death gauntlets as dc class rest does the same whith shop kit atleast make it the bigged lvl cave is the better items will drops as for the zuma rat u shuld make the normal mobs in zt to drop zua items aswell bdd black items cause we know that black items in bdd were droping just from bosses and thats not the actualy drops.. i know sam removed them sayng that harder drops loads of people will farm but when they fownd out they dont drop at all check the numbers 1 mounth ago there were 300-400 peoples in wekends on now u see umbers close to 200 + - loads quited cause they dont got a chance 2 kill a strong boss in game and whidowt that thers no chance 2 get kid on this server..

Would involve either be hard coded or a separate mapping system; the monitems system is the traditional mir system (matches mob name to file name under the monitems directory).

An idea from where to start. Skip all the low level caves - bugcave, omacave and dead mines etc. or leave them until you have sorted the rest.

Did you even read the first post of this thread, Its all about how we plan to change the drop files so that more items will drop for players.

I agree skip out mines, etc and work on mid range up, thats were people will still hunt. New people will soon get to those caves and reap the benefits from them, where as nobody will gain from oma cave drops being revised.

Could we have a tick list to see whats been done & what hasn't? Will get people hunting areas to test and you'll find out quicker if you got to tweek them any more.

Bad idea, atleast if you start with low level caves, any initial errors will be rectfied by the time the high levels have been done. Would rather a ghoul or zombie drop a few too many power axes than ZT dropping too many J Maces.

Glad to see something which has been getting to alot of people being sorted, hopefully it gives people a bit more motivation to hunt and play again.

Just wondering if the added item drops are going to be upped at all? as i've been playing since the start of the server and all ive had is +dura items and a dc+1 leather belt.

I can understand missing fullstops we all do that
But that wall of text hurt my head and took me about 5 minutes just to read

As for the drops imo the lower level caves are fine as they are, they seem to drop well enough and players do not spend to long in them anyway but all caves and mobs will be changed

I may inform players what caves have been changed this weekend and use them as a test bed

Glad to see you taking immediate action against the awful actual drop system BH.

In my opinion you should consider the actual game as a whole: like how many low-mid-high lvl caves are currently in game then split the items in 5 categories: common/uncommon/semi-rare/rare/super-rare. You can figure which item is which category, then add them for boss/mob drops following few simple rules.

Example: Ghoul being a low tier boss his best drop for example as weapon should be uncommon: lvl 26 weap with a low chance of drop. Moving up another example i can give is EvilSnake in st b7: hes a mid tier boss so best drop should be a rare weap like lvl 40. By the best drop I understand the lowest chance of getting the item.

Just please don't make it like it is now where you have this "randomness" that gives you an equal chance of getting a lvl 36 or 43 weapon because there's not very hard accessing any area of the game with a small group of people.

Frozen Boss is crazy difficult for the reward. Doesnt even get killed cause its just not worth the effort. Same for EvilEmperor. Hard to get to kr and then killing it. EvilMir isnt great for the number of people you need/time taken.x

- plz think about the entire dropfile not one line (any mir server i seen pretty much had mobs that had a 1/5 chance of a 'usefull' drop , while others had a 1/20, just cause you put some super rare item on a 1/200 rate but no other items on that mob, doesnt make it a good dropper :p)

- plz if you use the * system use it proper, i love guaranteed added stats(slots)
(imho it's a nice way to give item progression a twist, you can have a boss like wt that would drop the occasional (semi rare) lvl 30 weapon, but also a fair chance of dropping an added stat/slot lvl 26. this way you not only have a rare chance of getting that next tier weapon, but also a reasonable chance of actualy getting something you might enjoy having)

- i absolutely liked the system where items where grouped in a random except: if a mob has a random chance of dropping some lvl 26 weapon, and another random chance of dropping a * lvl 26: then suddenly it can drop the same item twice (which is a mistake that's in all the chronicles drops that got leaked!)

- also bear in mind that since warrior, archer and sin are using the same dc items: it might not be perfect to make a random group for all items and basicaly increase the chance of tao or wiz getting the group drop :p

Please increase normal item drops too, from the trash mobs, gives people a chance to make some money while hunting too, and a chance of an added normal item.

Barely see any 33 armours dropping now
