Right, I have 4gig of DDR2 ram already, 300gig hd, this Gfx card (Not great i know, but will do for now as this can be upgraded at a later date) and I have the case.

basically need everything new i think. The Mobo is a MSI K9N Neo F, which im not sure, but think only fits AMD processors?

im wanting Pentium processor this time

So would anyone be able to link me some stuff I need so I can see a round-a-bout figure?

Not wanting anything uber special, but decent, and want to spend aboput £300 ish?

Basically dont need much, decent spec, and run WoW smoothly thats all.

With the price at the moment I can look at a better GFX card too

I'd say your better to wait for some tech savvy people to comment, they'll probably recomend better quality motherboards etc.

I'm only wondering here, but will all DDR2 ram work with DDR2 boards? I didn't think it did. (Although i may be very wrong!)

Scotland, UK.
I know your trying to keep the prices low, but i wouldnt buy cheap components m8.

CPU - http://www.ebuyer.com/product/150186 ( At least that )

MOBO - http://www.ebuyer.com/product/145750 ( Always preffer Asus )

Personally i wouldnt touch these components myself.. if your looking to throw a bit of cash for real good performance you should look at these

CPU - http://www.ebuyer.com/product/139971 ( Overclocks like a beast 3.6 easy on stock cooler )

MOBO - http://www.ebuyer.com/product/145748 ( Nice overclocking board also )

PSU - http://www.ebuyer.com/product/135514 ( Very reliable, also single 12V is good for newer power hungry GFX cards.

Cooler - http://www.ebuyer.com/product/150981 ( Decent for air cooling, should be able to reach a 4GHZ OC with this )

For this you are looking at a mighty good setup. I know its more than your looking to pay but its gives you room to upgrade and also top quality perfomance.

Warlock, your suggestions are ridiculous, you dont seem to know that you can get quality components that are actually cheap, he doesn't want to play Crysis on Ultra high, he wants to play WoW, now stop thinking you actually know what your talking about just because you can pick out expensive things off ebuyer.

Why the hell would he want any of this?

A fan so he can overclock to 4GHZ? He's playing WOW. Grow up. You've sugested alot of overclocking stuff, but why? It's easy to get good compnents without aiming for overclocking value.

-I'd recomend staying away from Pentium D processors, I know their cheap, but i really would pay that small bit extra and get a core 2 duo, even one of the lower models will rip the Pentium D to pieces.

While the e5200 is a Pentium Dual Core, its still based off the Core 2 architecture, same as the E2*** series. The Pentium D and Pentium Dual Core are very much different.

@Skyline, the E4600 is not better than the E5200, the E5200 is still a Core 2, just ignore the name, its newer, it runs cooler, faster, and its cheaper. Its kind of the same scenario with the E6850 costing more than the E8400. The E5200 will do you just fine, but if you want more, then go for the e7200 or e7300.

Im not expecting you to overclock, but i only recommend the AC Pro 7 because it will do a much better job at keeping your CPU well below the maximum temps your CPU can handle, its also ALOT quieter and hey, its only 15 quid. (comes with pre-applied MX paste aswell i think)

Shut up. Please.

P.S Theyre around 150/160 quid now.

wow is it generally more expensive in UK than US/CA?

In canada,
Q6600 is around 135-140 quid (converted).

and last week there was a hot deal at Dell on Q9550 for 126 quid.

I say get a Q6600 is a better deal than the duo.

Yeah its a little more expensive in the UK, i think you could probably find one for around 145 quid, but most sell them around the 150 mark.

if you look at the intel processor price list, you can get an idea when is the best time to get the cpu.

when? when there's a price drop of course...

http://www.intc.com/priceList.cfm

example In december, Q6600 stays at 183USD at 1000 units.

price usually change every 3-4 months...

i always find things are alot cheaper in US (afta conversion) not so much now with the exchange rate at almost 0.7 now (compared to 0.5 about a year back)

but i always try and get all my computer components from an american site if possible.

http://www.ebuyer.com/product/148715 - If you wanna spend abit more, get the E7200 or E7300 (Still within your price range)
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/148802 - Don't know why i didn't see this in the first place.
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/131052 - This PSU can handle upto a HD 4850 and a Quad Core running at stock speed, so your ok.

Im not actually sure if theres any inexpensive Motherboards that support the E5200 out of the box.
