AlphaOmega Server, Looking for Advisors.

I often wonder to myself, why do people want to become GM's on a server if they are trustworthy.

The answer i get from most, to help people.

Myself and UrbanFox have come up with the Idea of having AlphaOmega Server Advisors.
These users will be a Semi-GM and will stand in an advisors hall to answer questions about the server, keep players up to date regarding future updates, will take bug reports and post them in a special section on the forum, and basically be there to help guide the players through the game.
This will not be an easy position, it will be very challenging, but could prove rewarding if the position is taken seriously by the successful candidates.

Anyone accepted would be expected to spend at least 1 hour a day (min of 30mins a time) on the advising character.

The persons chosen for this role will not only have an advisor character, they will also recieve a moderators position on the forum, and will be given the opportunity to be the first to help out with testing of new things in game.

Anyone who thinks they have enough knowledge of Mir - not necissarily just AlphaOmega server, and would like to be considered for a position kindly send me a forum PM on the AlphaOmega forums, stating your real life name, your age, the country you live in ( and +/- GMT time) and explain why you believe you would be the best person for this role.
NOTE: one liners or applications by any other method will not even be read.

That may well be true, but what im attempting to do is give the server a better reputation by doing this =)

Thats the idea, if I dont get suitable applications, it will stay open until i do. Ive had a few applications so far, but unfortunately, i have still to recieve a fully complete application :S

Hiya Karl (mauldor dude here) - from experience everybody and there dog wants to be GM with there various reasons given but in reality it boils down to having power to TING people, spawn some mobs and wear uber kit plus as a added bonus, helping there mates when no-one is looking.

People for some wierd reason think it brill to be a GM but in stark reality its a boring job and a unthankfull one as people will PM you to death asking such questions as:

Can you take me to .....
Can you Spawn me some .....
Can you Recall me .....
Can we have a Event...

And so forth - Then there is problems when the said GM goes uber nuts and helps his mate level and so forth..Human Nature I suppose.

I doubt many people will actually want to stand in a town, field lots of questions (which will be flowing uber fast on there little screen at the bottom) and not actually do anything else - esp as they wont have full GM abilities but if they truely want to be a GM of any sort then will accept this role as you have laid down.

Exactly the reason that im doing it m8.
There will be regulations in place so that these Advisors will not be able to interfere with play, and as you say only the TRUE people who want to be a GM for the reason everyone says they want to be will apply. This will also possibly ween out some of those potentially good GM's who would not only be welcome on my server, but I would be willing to give these people a good reference for other servers.....basically its giving all those people who say "ere m8 i want to be a GM im not corrupt, i wont do stuff i aint supposed to" the chance to actually prove they are willing to do that. Might actually stop ALOT of people from begging for GM places as well :P

I will be happy to help you out, I have been GM on a few servers like WhIpLaSh and YoungDragonz but I do not know much about AlphaOmega server so if you could tell me all I would need to know I could stand in and answer questions for an hour or so every day.

unfortunatly it didnt work the server is full of corruption. if the posting on urban fox hadnt been locked i would be posting this on there. for the past week or so the server has been full of corruption and thats almost ruined it. my character was hacked, i was told (by urban fox) who had hacked me and all my items were returned. then that same night someone came online and called urban fox by the name he had given me for the supposed hacker (a bit strange i know) so unfortunatly a once goodish server is ruined and i tend to believe now what his poor brother was saying. (if im proved wrong then i will openly apologise on here) but sorry to say yes ao is mega corrupt

Is this kazzer? I helped you get your items back and i told you who hacked you but i don't understand the second part...

As for server corruption this past week the rumors for some reason have been flying like **** and i am very unpleased, epsecially to the fact not many gm's have been on this week because were all busy with stuff, especially me who starts school tommrow :/ if you would please put a name to this corruption and tell me incidents or something i will gladly address it, becus it's all a bunch of baseless conspriricy theories and i keep hearing 'corruption' but no one explains exactly what corruption happened. And as for my brothers thread, lordbritain was highest on the server long before i became host and anyone who plays the server knows this, so i can't see why noobs who don;t even play continue to bring up this issue...

The only two events that people talked about on forum were the 2 chars banned for the !golden order bug exploittation, and that they werent we with the shown proof on the forum that my test chars last login date was 8/26 and it isn;t even the same name -.-

As for sabuk wall, im sorry but you are all a bunch of wining little kids. Server has a problem and sabuk war is screwed and the war was given to a different guild... therefore the only possible response is gm corruption... excuse me but thats a load of crap, and MI can simply go for the wall again.
