Ok, ive made the decision........

Server will go down either later tonight or early tomorrow.

All Characters will be wiped, all bugs will be fixed.

THERE WILL BE NO FURTHER WIPES!

and server will Re-Open 26th January at 6pm GMT (tomorrow evening) with the following specifications.

EXP/Stat/Skill(including Crafting) Gains = 5x Euro Soma.
Characters will start at lvl 1 with 18 con.
PK System WILL be included.
Monster Drops will be x2 that of Euro Soma.
All current Monsters and items in Euro Soma (upto Abyss Patch) will be ingame.
All Magics and auras Ingame. (plus some not in Euro Soma)
Special Gems sell to NPC for 400barr apc.
Devil World Armour Requirements (items) reduced.
Extra Items added to drops... e.g. Demonic Armours - Mutated GrassHoppers.
Red Leather - Dungeon Devil Warriors.
Plus Much Much more, cant think off the top of my head.

All currently known bugs removed. (With exception of Warehouse bug which has a temporary fix)

Well, I thought I had but it looks like he paid my hosting computer a visit last night, deleting all the tables apart from bb4 and also adding another 4 tables, very strange :D

Not to much of a big deal because i keep regular backups of the tables anyway....but whats the point putting it up when all of a sudden MentaL can come on and take it out when he wants.

find the backdoors (theres more than one) i was talking to mental today and he said its not that he wants to hurt soma its so it doesnt turn out like mir understandable but untill you can find the backdoors you will have no other server online

Karrl, can you tell me (cos ive never looked at Soma) what Database it uses? is it MySQL? How come a outside person can talk to the sql server - is it not local only access? Only way to plug that hole surely is to hack your own server..

I believe mental uses servicemanager.exe from the soma files to gain access somehow to the server.

I had totally hexed all of my services and server.exe but still hes able to access.
Shame really because RagedSoma is dying, no one else is going to host a server with reasonable stats or a reliable host. I want to do that, and was informed by mental he wasnt gonna be doing any more soma "hacking" because he couldnt be bothered with the hassle.

How wrong was I to think that, and how on earth can i implement or why should i have to implement any more measures than what are already in place >.<

Right MS-SQL - now where talking...

Im sure you know of all of this but just in case though.....

Never use SA account for things, make that password very hard to guess or brute force.
Set up a account that can only change the database but not delete anything, now this wont stop people accessing your SQL to see the account but it will def stop any database from been deleted.

Im guessing the SQL runs pure local, no outside access in any shape or form, that means one of the programs you have said has a back door which allows access to sql from there. If you want me to rip anything apart, then PM me and Ill add you to my MSN, I dont know SOMA as such but i can def rip the programs apart that for sure..

just a rough guess but i take it you followed a guide and your SQL ID And Pass or both SOMA try changin the pass and that will prevent the SQL Hacking from mental now if he is still hacking theres goto be something else
