Annoying Comp Probs

Ok lately my computer is being annoying.
Everytime I try to log onto MSN I get the troubleshoot message, I've done all the troubleshooting and still no prevailing. I have done this with most versions of the messenger, disabled all security programs I have etc.. (these did not affect before)
You might think its just a problem with MSN but no
My computer also refuses to let me play Mir! Any and every server I try to connect to weather it be 1.9 private 1.4 private or euro i get connection closed, and before anyone says it yes I have all the ini's the exe etc all set up right and this is really annoying me as I was looking forward to the AlphaOmega 1.9 Alpha test

I do believe the problems are linked any help would be aperciated.

Ok as I briefly said above.
Everything else works normally.

I have just tried sys restore and it wont let me do it (it fails)

do a full system scan wiw AVG and also scan wiw the new microsoft anti spyware thingy ... Did u start getting popups/odd icons on the desktop recently?

Ad-aware (lavasoft.com i think) and panda tit 2005 AV shud do ya fine or kaspersky AV

ad-aware is the best anti-spyware imho

if ur running behind a proxy

tools/.netoptions/connections/lan settings

disable otherwise u wont be able to login

this is 99% prob killer!

or if ur ona high lvl firewall.. disable!

orrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr maybe it's just a **** load of spyware ¬¬ lol (trust me, 4 spyware progs can slow down ur connection to 0.01kb/s or make some progs cease working tbh :/

edit: also i dont see how a proxy could stop you from playing mir or logging on to msn, people from all over the world do it... :/ and no, before u say it, chinese/koreans/japs DON'T use proxys to play euro mir2/mir3

Ad-aware sucks compared to Microsoft's Beta. In fact, nothing comes close.

I got Mircrosofts spyware. About a week after I started having problems

edit: i get no spyware found when scanning apart from my ares p2p

edit2: my connection speed running fine at 576kbps
