Problem - My aerial was vandalised and ripped off the top of my car. Doing so they also pulled the thread out of the aerial base (the part you screw the antenna into)

I rang my loca VW garage and they quoted me for a new aerial (base and antenna) and then quoted me for fitting.

Total - £256 ... FK THAT

So... what im in need of is..

1. An aerial base to fit my VW Polo 2012 model

2. And a method of possibly fitting this myself, as im aware its only a matter of dropping the headiner and unscrewing the original aerial base?..

Any help would be appreciated. Cheers guys

Go to to a scrapyard, or breakers and fit yourself,

Where is the Aerial located? front or back?

Try searching on a vw owners forum?

The audi version has guides on pretty much everything

The base is normally held by one bolt probably 10 or 13 mm, Very easy to change yourself,

I wouldn't pay £200 for fitting fk that. Like Tai has said look on the VW forums

Did they rip the threaded part out completely, if not just retap it and get an aerial to suit the new thread.

Cheers lads.

DK.yeah mate they ripped the full thread out of the base, otherwise like you said i could have just tapped or helicoiled it.
