It is being worked on.
That is all I can say, I have no ETA

As I have said before, even if it was added tomorrow (it will not be added tomorrow) it will take at least a month to get the stuff needed to make a book

A suggestion for this...

Make the crafting of the book a series of 31 daily tasks in random or set order.
E.g. Day 1: clear 500 woomas in 2 hours.
Day 2: zuma relic
Day 3.....

Tasks don't really matter as long as they are a challenge. The ideas behind it are that:
- it will take a month minimum as long as only 1 quest in the chain can be done each day.
- if the player ia inactive it would carry over.
- it will encourage people to work together in order to help people get their new skill (e.g. Have an occasional quest that requires a full group)
- random order would expand and vary the number of caves being hunted and open up some bosses for smaller groups.

I know a load of ideas been given already but i missed that boat.

also make it that you must have completed the current quest story line.

I thought that was already agreed. I hope so
make it so you cant start the quest/craft until you are a level above the skill requirement

Someone already said that, and Sam responded with saying why limit it to when you can craft the spell as you will get to the level to use it anyway.

Also the reason they are adding crafting books is for the casuals who don't have the time to play/don't have the type of money to buy spells. So if it was daily quests for a month to craft a book they wouldn't be hard dailies, they would probably be as simple as killing an OmaWarrior, to hunting 100 Bugs in DeathValley.

why make it so easy? these are level 40+ books. the quests to get them shouldnt be a simple as killing an omawarrior.

if it takes a hardcore player a month itll take a casual 6months.
the hardcore can go get them from boss, the casuals cant.
OW would be too easy though lol.

i think top tier spells shouldnt be craftable to begin with though, there should always be something to hunt for and as a casual you expect not to have everything.

so open it up to things like FF, AB, SS and SF but not rage, protect field ect ect,

then when the new ones are released. open up more craftables. so rage becomes craftable when iceslash or whatever its called enters the drop files.

agreed. never played a mir with skill crafting before , not sure why its needed now.

looks like books are starting to drop at a nice rate.

soon as its brought ingame and everyone has the skills , they will all just move onto the next moan.

But that's part of the reason why the user count has drastically dropped, if a casual can't have the same game play as a hardcore player then why bother playing, well that's the way I see it.

Tbh as a warrior I would replace rage and profield with some other skill if I could. Maybe the new ones that are coming.

Skill craft is a great idea. It shouldn't be months to get a skill though. A casual player will have moved onto the next server if it's going to be that long.

Also do the quests have to be relevant. You can't expect to get a poisoncloud book by completing quests In Bugcave.
if a skill is level 40 it's quest should involve level 40+ areas or at best 3 levels previous to it areas.

The "hardcore" shouldn't even pick up the quests if they are so against it.

Like i have have said many times skills are what make this server ( or where suppose to ) different. Plenty suppose to be on here that I have never seen or used before. And tbh I don't think I'm ever going to see or use them on here I've lost heart in the server and can't enjoy playing it anymore.

The bosses are like vending machines now. Lots of things are dropping. Craftable skills aren't really needed now with the drop rates.

I don't see it as a good thing, even though I rarely log on ... but clearly a lot of people prefer it this way...

you and many more like you.
There is just nothing new available to anyone with other responsibilities. (often reffered to as "a life" not a fan of that term tho)
Unfortunately the team lacked imagination from the very start.
the turd is well and truly polished but its still a turd.

Im waiting to see what sams idea of "rebirth" or whatever he has planned for end game then ill be done.

Casuals never had the same gameplay as the 18 hrs a day ppl on any server ever. How could they?

The user count dropped ages ago and has held steady since
It dropped because the drop files were wrong and then someone posted them and to anyone who didn't know what they meant it looked as though they were never ever going to get anything above a level 26 item or spell ever.
That's why they left.
The new drop files have been in place for about a month .
Things everyone has been moaning about are dropping. Now what do you want? More of them? Sooner?
Why not just give everyone a level 40 shop kit when they get new armour and a level 45 shop kit including dark arm when they reach 45. That's is the only way casuals get the same gameplay.
The other way it works is if everyone else is so far ahead of casuals so by the time they get to 40 most of the things they want are of no interest to the level 50+ players and so are in the shops or Tm cheap.

As a casual player who stopped for the reason I didn't get to effectively play the game to its full potential, the spells being crafted change actually has me thinking of a return. Playing any game where I'm missing vital things like spells makes me less interested in staying at the game, items I expect to have worse gear than a hardcore player, that's how it is on every MMO, but missing spells, no thanks.

And please don't say that's how Mir has always been, cause yes I know that, however it's one thing that should be changed from the original concept of Mir. A hardcore player who has all spells and better gear will usually win against a casual missing vital spells, however if the casual had the same spells, he may prove that even without the best gear he can put up a strong fight and may even win.

All I see coming from this spell crafting system is more interesting fights between players/guilds and the opportunity for casuals to have more fun... I honestly see that as a positive thing.

Random fact about me - I am pretty bad at Mir PvP, but I won't back down if someone attacks me, I usually just run about trying to hit and if I'm failing I will just run around till they get bored, I don't RT very often.
