I know I keep saying it and none of you believe me but drops have not been changed since the last reboot.

I can post the time stamps on the files if people want. Hell at this stage I am even temped to post a drop file from a monster so players can see that the rates are really kind.

Out of curiosity, what's the reasoning behind keeping drop files out of the public eye?

People give the GMs massive amounts of grief over drops they see as too high and others say there's no point ever killing those monsters their drop rate is stupid. Just creates a negative atmosphere and people only hunt certain monsters because they like the numbers.

You're basing this assumption on what? As has been pointed out many times before in drop threads, wildly successful MMOs make drops public via APIs and logs and it doesn't create a negative atmosphere. Why would the same not apply for Mir?

I'm thinking the first person to get FF lying and saying it dropped off a FlamingWooma would just lead to frustration when tens of thousands are killed in a week and none drop. That's creating a negative atmosphere.

On the last time drop files went public, although most of the rates were horrendous people may still react in a similar fashion if they don't agree with the rates. I've played plenty of games where files and logs are widely accepted and useful, however those were mobs I was killing 100s of and so I could see the results, bosses in mir don't often go above double figures per day and so the unpredictable nature of what they might drop is exciting.

I mean it just makes it easier for everyone.. if your guild is lacking in Tao and Wiz gear/items why go hunt a boss that drops mostly War/Sin/Archer stuff (assuming there is such a distinction between the various boss' drops)?

It also gives people a clear thing to aim for. Oh, Warlord drops item X that the guild really wants? Best start leveling/gearing for it.

A way to take out the disappointment is to have every boss drop _one_ rare per death. If he drops DragonSabres at 1/30, have him drop a SSW, a yellow Serp, Titan Armour or whatever whenever he doesn't drop a DS. Things like that.

Sounds like a boss I'd love to kill! Think most bosses drop items for every class though, improves the guild as they know they can camp one boss and it'll benefit them all, TKO and curse10 probably the first example when orcs was the only dropper.

If drop files were released I think there would be a lot of fine tuning required so that all content remained active, otherwise a few caves would just be hunted in isolation. That is the case as it stands but that's because the higher ones are still being worked out

How do you figure? I have played WoW, for many years, and dislike the whole dumbing down thing it's got going on since Cataclysm, which is why I quit.

Mir was hard and would continue to be hard if people knew where the rares they're interested in drop. Maybe I want a DC Rune and don't want to pay 600k for it. I check the drops and see it drops at the highest rate from FT and WG (besides bosses), so I go camp those instead of ETs, where I thought they dropped most often. Where's the harm in that?

I never said anything about instant boss respawns. But if WT drops the necky I want and I know he's the highest rate dropper, yes, I'll camp KR or ask a guildie to do it. And what's wrong with that?

This is a small pserver for mir. Not a wildly successful MMO with many hundreds of players. If you want everything laid out, go here get this, go there kill that this happens then mir will disappoint. Most of the bosses drop something for each class. You dont hunt tao kit in Mineral Mines and Sin kit in PSC. Mir is all chance and random. Making it all follow exact rules doesnt seem right.

3weeks man 3 weeks of new drop files with a player count of less than 200 most peak times. Well it might be 4 weeks now I lost count. Some of them is afk and some are miners you can see how not enough hunting goes on.
Gucci say they have lots of skill books and lots of everything else but they never get any drops either.

Another reason not to post drop files I think. You want the higher level aggressive addicts to camp the caves that drop the rares or you prefer it that they go big main boss and keep out of everyone else hair(thanks for info Gucci seems your still here trolling n grabbing and striving).

Where are the Fox items???? these were my fav items cos they all had 1 base and was nice looking items but not even seen 1 single item? they shudnt be rly rly rare?? ppl are killing fox boss a lot now? but still we don't have any of the fox items?

i have to agree on the lack of fox items tbh they are my fav items aswell and are 1 of 2 reasons that i ever even lvl past 45(the other being omakingrobe, awesome bit of kit)
really dont know why they are this rare though, considering they are the only items that give any sort of upgrade for lvl 40-48.
on euro almost every fox boss dropped a fox item of some sort and on alot of occasions it dropped up to 3 or 4.

yes i know this is not euro, but even so.

If fox items do come in game please can you look at the Taoist ones, they focus on DC just as much as SC and offer no defensive stats unlike the wizard and warrior versions. Items above 37 for a Tao all have plenty of dc and there's not much point trying to get the rares because you can gem a 400k ring and have an item of equal power.

i think thats because taos can just up thier defence reguardless, and as ive said before taos tend to neglect the fact that they have a sword and the accuracy to use it.
but saying all that the sc on tao rings really isnt that diff to the mc/dc on the other rings, where the highest wiz ring that isnt lvl 48+ giv es 0-6 mc and the warr ring of the same calibur gives 0-8 and the tao rings fives 06 sc and 0-2 dc, instead they get 1-5 sc and 1-3 dc it hink?
seems alright to me.

Boss drops shouldn't be massively OP still should have to grind abit for the items or it makes everyone have the same kit! I have been hunting a lot of bosses recently and im liking the boss drops. Not getting too much but still worth going too

The thing is nobody has certain kit. Curse, FF, DragonSabre, etc.

I think you mean dragon staff?? :P bit weird that no lvl 40 weps have dropped lol but several 43 weps think we want to be seeing 40 weps dropping now at least 1 per week tbh getting a bit stale the kits ppl have :S
