i was going to go for the samsung t240hd (as i said in my other thread), but when i saw it in the shops, i realised it was set too high for the desk and chair i have atm so it would always be at an annoyingly high viewing angle.

ive found another monitor, this time a 25" hp. looks prity nice, and has full rotationability.

im just wondering, if anyone has a hp monitor, and can tell me what the quality, fresh rate and reliability are like?

HP are one of the most reliable monitor manufactures, we use them commercially and they're normally the main choice for most big businesses. Very reliable, very good quality.

The refresh rate etc will obviously vary from model to model, but I don't think you'd have any problems.

That also depends on who the big company has for their hardware support, as most big companys tend to go Dell and not HP on desktops.

Though HP and ACER monitors are the best ones to go for on retail, but if you fancy somthing a bit more special then buy NEC. As NEC is the main branded hardware source any ways on 90% of hardware bought, it's just big companys rebrand it to their make.

They would have their own IT departments, you're not thinking 'big businesses' really if you assume they would outsource IT desktop support.

I don't know where you get your figures from, but HP still capture the mass corporate market, mainly because they provide the cheapest printing solutions alongside their desktops so can sell in total cheaper.

I'm talking big businesses though, with thousands employees. For example most government services use HP, as do companies like (off the top of my head) Skandia, Tesco, B&Q. Dell tends to be used by businesses with a few hundred employees. Plus with their off-shore track record and years of trading the big ones aren't quite prepared to cut contracts just yet.
