Just got my Lock to 80 (At last).

Im in a decent guild as my mate who I work with is a leader, and they raid all through the week.

Now I have quested my way through my levels, basically as a solo player... so i literally know sweet FA about the game... other than my spells and what I use lol.

Im demo atm, with some scattered in Affli tree.

So just looking for advice really? Whats best spec to go for dungeons as I dont really do PvP. I like my Felguard so dont wanna lose that, so a good demo spec would help... if you have a spec for me to copy? lol.

Where shoud I go for kit etc would help too!

Heres my lock: http://eu.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Quel'Thalas&n=Aranesp

First off, if you like your lock, STICK to your lock, yeah sure you can reroll but then thats just a complete waste of time if you ask me, unless your using your lock to gather mats (herbs etc)...
If you like the look of another class then research into it, find out the pros and cons etc...just make sure you enjoy the class your playing :)

Well like most classes in wow, you'll suceed if you know what each and every spell in your arsenal does, when to use them and how...what skill best goes with another skill etc etc like...deathcoil ---> fear

Demo doesnt really do much in pve, it can be used in pvp if you have a clue on how to use your pet effectively like, utilising the your pet's intercept into a chain cc like fear or following a deathcoil, but that'll come later

Affliction and maybe even destruction now are your pve talent trees, destruction is pretty hard to get used to as you got casted skills and locks can be quite easy to lock out in pvp

The basics are keybinding all your skills, or your most frequently used skills near WASD... dont be a keyboard turner cause that'll get you nowhere in wow :<...turn with your mouse and use WASD to move...have important skils like deathcoil or healthflunnel on easy access keys like F or G

next i'd pretty much say get used to your keybindings :P, go join a bg and pvp around, mess around check what skills go with what skills and mess around

Im mostly talking about pvp because getting used to pvp and how game mechanics work with other classes means you know exactly how different your very own class is...locks are the only class that can fear without having a cooldown, apply the most dots than any other class, have the ability to create healthstones, can literally never run out of mana if you have a healer near you etc etc
Not to mention that the honor reward items are easy to get...just an honor grind and they're good starting items for new toons

Only other thing i can tell you is to watch pvp movies or pve movies...pvp movies will show u things that you prolly havent seen before, great lock i've seen over my time is drakedog however his usually destro...so yeah, scope around the forums and check out other peoples armory's, check out their specs their gear what they usually stack (mostly spellpower for locks)

Erm apart from that, i'd say try n get full blue items, noones gonna want you if your in greens unless your experienced and you know what your doing =P
good sites like http://www.wow-loot.com/warlock.htm can tell u what instances drop what kinda items for you and what you should roll for if they do drop...try not to need on everything thats blue =p

If your gonna start out pvping then i suggest you stay demo as soullink and your pet will help you out in places, it'll get fraustrating as your gonna meet rogues and paladins that are jus gonna chop away at your hp with 5k hits and what not but its not like you loose anything from going into bgs, coming out with honor and experience :bounce:
You'll get easy kills if you just know how to play effectively, like dotting rogues up, knowing when a guy in bg has used his pvp trinket so you can jus fear him...KITE melee etc etc...
oh and dont have your pet on aggressive...keep it on either defensive or passive, make a keybinding initiating him to attack/intercept...will help alot and wont cause your whole party to wipe in instances ;d

Cheers for the post.

I LOVE my lock.

I started as a warrior, then went onto a rouge. Warrior got to 32, rogue to about 20.

Then I started my lock, and its all Ive played, bar a hunter thats about level25.
Guess as you say I'm just best playing around, see'ing whats best and learn to play it my self!

Just so much to learn... not like mir :( lol

not knockin down mir, simple is beautiful sometimes, pretty much what mir was interms of pvp anyway ;P

just the skill cap of some classes like mostly rogues...then followed by mages and druids are incredible

I enjoy my lock in pvp, but thats because i love affliction spec lol for raiding it has to be demo unfortunately :P but when i moved onto paladin <3... Retadin for life now lol, nice dps, got bubble, heals, lay on hands its just rediculous lol, occasionaly used to play my mates 68 warrior but didnt like it to much, but i have to say paladin is by far my fave class, but i am a pvp wh0re.

Also the versatility of a paladin is amazing, you can be healer, tank or dps and they do extremely well as tanks and dps, but healing does get kinda boring as it seems to only be single target healing.

Lock was my 1st 70 and it was very easy to level in affli/demon spec lol just the hp boosts from my demon + dot dot dot dot fear :P made it so easy, i havent played much of wotlk and might get back into it, lemme know what servers people are on and if ya are active, im alliance lol :P havent played for a while though...

EDIT - a couple of chars, only ones i remembered the names of :S

http://eu.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Laughing+Skull&n=Åleris < Paladin
http://eu.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Mazrigos&n=Omnikron < Lock

Hes a Blood Elf lock (Horde scum) :P

if i can be bothered to rejoin wow i might come on your server and make a horde, never made one before lol but its nice when you have active people to chat to while griding it out :]].. only shame is i would have to make a blood elf to be a paladin :(, What does ur guild need atm (if anything) lol

My lock : http://eu.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Khadgar&n=Tonberry

Played him through Woltk but quit before Ulduar was released. I was the lock classleader for a decent guild so if you have any questions I can try answer them :D.

As for a felguard spec I'd suggest something like:

http://www.wowhead.com/?talent#IZ0GfhoAziosGzZVbhqrckV

for a pure pve build. If you want more raid buffs / the demon then take out the destro spells and put them into demo. Keep Ruin whatever you do though.

your lock is untalented? :S lol any reason? xD

On another note, i managed to get my pass for one of my wotlk accounts :D so i dont need to rebuy so just downloading a 1.7gig file and installing and ill prob make a horde and get leveling lol :D

Agreed, at first i just quested and lvled and never knew fk all about wow, so i quit for half a year, then i just wanted to play it again, so i did recruit a friend, got a warr to 60, rogue to 60, mage to 60 shammy to 60 in about a week, then all iv really lvled since then is my warrior and rogue both 80 now.

Shame, im on a different server list otherwise we coulda gone and done 2s with my warrior and your lock :)
