Thought I would make a public apology for the time taken over the public holidays to visit family and friends, it was wrong of me and I should not of done it... Please accept my sincere apologies...

Whilst I am at it... Please accept my apologies for the following reasons why I might not be at my desk working on Mir/responding to your insults:
- Taking time to sleep...
- Having to go to work...
- Taking time to cook and eat (I am a big boy, mummy doesn't cook my dinners unfortunately).
- Talking/spending time with my partner...
- Talking/spending time with my kids...
- Taking a dump (I should just do it where I sit right).

Actually whilst I am at it, let me apologize for the air that I breathe...

On a more realistic note... I try to respond to the hundred's upon hundred's of forum pm's, forum posts, facebook pm's, support emails and skype messages that I receive on a daily basis, however, many of these get saturated in spam and are sometimes overlooked, so I will apologize for this.

Not entirely sure being flippant with a notoriously immature audience is the route to go.

You will always get people wanting more. You have to try your best to ignore it and not end up raging at your users like other GMs have in the past. Once you start raging, you will get trolls coming in from all angles to try make you do it again.

Well and you should be...

Haha what a bunch of tossers, delete this post and ban all those who make you feel this way lmao
Seriously - I know in the past I've been a pain in the ass (especially when I was younger and immature) but it's not easy running a server and juggling real life. Players expect far to much from a single GM. There are others that support you but you are the main spot light and attract too much attention on top of the other things you do as I'm informed you do pretty much all the work.

No offence but I think this post needs deleting along with a lot of other rubbish on this forum. As a person in your situation/status I think that its important to keep a professional image irrespective of any abuse or insults that come your way. Not that I condone the insults of course but this post is just asking for more of them and to be frank just looks petty and childish. If you had to post it, you would have been fine with the last part.

In what position? We are members of this community that host/developer a server for the community to enjoy... I believe many people forget that we are just members of the community, like anyone else.

but you are a member we have come to look up to as the host of the most successful mir server for a while, even though its only been open for a month or 2.

some people may look at this as "you wasting time rather than answering their questions".

we all understand you have to or choose to spend time with family and yes some time off is always needed. it has just been frustrating not seeing a response thats the only problem lol. i know its a 10+ year old game and we should not be so addicted to it lmao.

i have to say thanx for the event Sam, but i think its time you ended it :)
i always make sure i take my phone (obviously with internet on it) just so i can relax on the toilet lmao.

I've realized that also... People treating you as if your a real company that has to be perfect and bow to everyones wishes. Your just running a fun free game for them, they don't have to right to be so harsh. Keep up the good work though ) I had a server yeaaars ago and it's a lot of work, and that was only small scale :P

Sam,

I am afraid you really must take your role much more serious, as you can see the many people that have become addicted to MIR and need their fix, myself being one of them.

I would like to take the time to suggest you give up your job, divorce "er" indoors or "im" indoors if ya a batty boi, give notice to your job and go to Tesco and buy lots of food and bottled water as you will never leave your desk again.

If you have kids let your partner keep them, they are a drain on ya financial security and invite mum and dad to live with you so you don't need to visit.

You can Google places anywhere in the world so wont need trips anywhere and after a few weeks none of ya mates will call as you don't go out.

This formula will allow you to focus your entire existence on a Private Server set up to continue enjoying MIR.

I hope I helped make your life so much easier.

I none of the above works just log on a level 12 warrior and smite them down they OP as **** so shouldn't be too hard to make them cry irl!!!!

Thing is people are dicks - but then these dicks have been playing mir for 12+ years, they know some things.

From the way the server is currently going i believe you've relied too heavily on looks over quality. Adjusting frame speed to make the game look better - technically ruining melee pvp in the process... or at least pulling it away from the standard of mir it was previously. I think this same ethos kind of falls through all of the content. In the areas you've tried to improve on mir you have failed, the areas you've ignored such as basic item stats and hunting areas (content) you have standardised - we've all played mir before, we know whats what, the excitement could of been changing it up slightly, making it more interesting.
The quest system seems to be under-used and very underwhelming.

I know you try hard, but I think your trying hard in the wrong areas.

if the melee for this particular set of files is always going to be this bad, best leave the files where they are and concentrate on heroes/ruby.. it's such a huge component of the game play, doesn't matter what whistles and bells you add on top, if the combat system is screwed, people won't play. If a decent ruby/heroes server opened now, with similar stuff, maybe like elysian but without the ability to fish/farm multiple accounts, this server would have a user count of single figures within a week. As it is, it's dying a slow death, people still playing because of the time/effort they have put in, but lets face it, the balance is a mile off, not only between the classes, but also between rate of leveling and drops. People will only put up with it for a certain amount of time, this is why a server that can be low rate, but with quests that reward people weapons, items and skills as well as chance of stuff from drops will hold a player base much longer. The quests up to lvl25 were pretty good, the problem was the items were too good, basically drops were not worth being excited about.. At 35+, there should be quests EVERY level, maybe multiple quests for items at each level, they can be fun or mundane, but people will grind them out.

Archers.. good effort but when sins are difficult enough to balance, creating a whole new dynamic on top was maybe a bridge too far.. This server should be an open beta, as that is exactly what it feels like currently.

My advice is sort the melee issue or forget these files, after this experience I'm fairly sure anyone looking to potentially join a chronicles- based server will not if there is no change to the current situation. You can call it a bug all you want, but NO other server has had this issue, and why should people have to accept this when they can play something else? There is also the problem of this client not running particularly efficiently, something again that is never experienced on any other set of files, if someone can run BF4 at 1080 with everything on and be up in the high 90's fps, do you not think there is something seriously wrong with the client if they are sat at 35 fps on this client?

Like I said good effort, but there are several areas needing polish, pvp to start, also this obsession with dark and lighting effects, yes they are great for a day or so, but as a player they are a chore, hunting in PT for example I actually got eyestrain from that! The fact you didn't actually have someone who sat down and mapped each classes progression through the game via items and quests and levelling is painfully obvious.

I'm sorry if this comes across as harsh but it is being honest in my appraisal of the server, you'd be wise to take note.
