I remember Sam saying something about new taoist pets in Ace v1...wonder if those new skills are included in AceChronicles and would be nice if you guys took the time to post all the skills (on forums or game site) like it was done with archer ones on this thread.

Agreed, be nice to get a skill breakdown for all classes, see what/if anything new is in store for the old stale classes.
Some new high lvl shizzle to aim for, for all would be nice.

Remember this is a hybrid, we dont want euromir/usamir etc etc. There cooking us something new and dynamic!

As far as I can tell from PLAYING shanda versions of mir, and seeing videos of their archer. They don't care, in the slightest, about balance.. I'm not sure where people are getting their information on thinking 'official = balance'. That's like saying euro was balanced.. HA, far from it, and they didn't listen to players opinions like we have been... Nor do most 'big development companies'. They do it how they want and tell the players what it will be and they deal with it..

As far as I can tell, what shanda cares about is giving people big shiny things and massive fugly wings for their players to look at.

Having actually played, unlike most of you guessing' I can see it being 'fairly' balanced at the moment. Noones saying it will be perfect and wont need tweaking., I think you'll find every game with more than 1 archetype option does...

Unless the community has access to lists of item stats, formulas for damage, attack speed, stat progression calculation, skill base damages and all the multipliers, then listening to community on any input that has to do with balance will do more harm than good. Grinding Gear Games Path of Exile is good project to take example from, they share all the formulas behind the game mechanics with community, so community can give them good feedback instead of useless noise. As a result they have the best balanced rpg on the market AND most customizable classes. Two features that often contradict one another.

If the devs are serious about taking our feedback into account, then they need to first share the formulas behind game mechanics. Otherwise listening to our crap here on forum will only make the game worse.

Shanda's version of Mir plays completely differently than any version of European Mir. So unless you implement all the other Shanda balance changes (No Flinch, Auto Run etc) & stats you wouldn't have an official Shanda Archer here.

Admittedly iMir (Where Archer class is from) is much closer to Korean Mir than their Main server but the differences are still pretty big when it comes to balance. They play a much faster style of Mir
Ah ok well just as long as the proper skills are in place the rest won't matter to me.

Apologies for nitpicking, and I appreciate the archer is still in the development stage, but...

I'm no expert on archery so correct me if I'm wrong but bows use arrows, crossbows use bolts. Should the skills not be named: SpiritArrow, IceArrow, FireArrow, StaticArrow? Or IMO they'd sound sexier as: SpiritShot, IceShot, FireShot, StaticShot.

I'd also suggest going by the description given that CrescentMoon (a straight line and not an arc) that you'd maybe call it PiercingArrow or PiercingShot.

Also, I know it's only a description but "A magical arrow built by the great god of Olympus, Zeus" Greek mythology in Mir?

The rest of it sounds great though, will likely be a bitch to balance but look forward to testing it.

If they didn't care about balance they wouldn't go through for all trouble of creating sub versions of their games, if something they are not completely sure about they will first add it to a sub version this being imir before introducing it into the mir2 version. I would personally say after playing a fair few of Shanda's titles over the years they purely base themselves on balance.

Your not creating Archer here, your creating a whole new class which just uses Archer's animation.

I think more imagination has to be used when everyone is considering where archer fits best. There are many different aspects to consider when looking at "Balance." For example, single target solo lvling, aoe lvling solo, group leveling, hard cave clearing(archer sounds amazing for this atm), end game group boss killing, solo mid boss killing, one on one pvp, group pvp, utility, support abilities, efficiency(gear requirements and pot requirements), tank and the list prolly goes on.
There are lot of potential ways a class can have a niche and alot of ways you can tweak to balance it later.

An easy example, low damage no agro spell, can then always help against bosses or has the ability to farm without even needing to run away, however the damage is such that it can't solo a boss.

There are so many things that could be done.

nice stuff but seems like it never done?? when im thinking most of us thought gonna open for xmass or so...now i wonder is gonna be this year or next one? im serious and waiting to play this too damn long...................................... you trying to do everything from start but not even God done it like that =PP

I think they should translate the names from Chinese to English.

The part about Zeus... I made all of the descriptions up whilst typing the initial post... Was running out of ideas :P...

i hate seeing people saying just open server and its not ready and it goes down in a month tbh id love just a time frame or a list on whats left to test

Or an open beta n whipe to speed the process along? I too am serious n wpuld like to start playing, hopefully we get the full community that is following on facebook. Cant beat a good old scrap over some boses :)

Unfortunately we won't give dates or even ETA's unless we are 100% sure of them... Giving dates and not meeting them does a lot more harm than good.

As soon as we have a set decision on a grand opening, we will let you know.

Could you elaborate a little on this skill please?

I assume because it's a toggle there is a cost of using HighShot otherwise you'd never turn it off. I was under the impression it lowered your damage whilst active but that does not seem to be the case. Going on your description while HighShot is active your accuracy is lowered?

This would be true if the speed of finding bugs was the limiting factor. However remembering that the people doing this are doing it on there own time as a hobby and without pay while having jobs and lives means that quite likely the amount of available hours to spend coding and bug fixing is the more likely limiting factor. Best bet is to offer support, suggestions and wait patiently.

Very true, didnt take that into consideration:/ but id gladly donate or even pay monthly sure alot of people would tbh to male it worth while for all there hard work n effort ^_^

There will be no open beta, it will be going from closed beta to live. has been stated before but here's the most recent statement on it:

There isn't going to be an open beta, so once closed beta has finished it will go into last stage of prep and then live...

No ETA for this as of yet.
