From closed betas so all the favourites can learn the secrets and then we all get to join at launch 100 steps behind.

Gotta agree with slippity on that one, not moaning. Cos its fact... also they have not streamed everything have they, so that makes it untrue that we "learn everything they learn"

Good lord the jealousy in this thread is astounding at times. Right -> Closed Beta -> They help test, they gain an advantage at initial launch by knowing places and where to hunt. I'm sorry but mir has NOT changed THAT much over the past 12 years to where you're unaware of how to do what, the first 30-40 levels?

Yes they gain an advantage, it's the case in every single closed beta game, it's the only one reward they get for it. "But maybe they've found an exploit they can use on live" congratulations, you have found exactly that - an exploit, i'm quite sure the team knows how to handle those that willingly cheat, it happens in live and in betas that won't change really.

Rant much anyways they should have made an open beta as there is never a reason not to in regards to game development.

Every mmo that's developed has closed beta, however many go directly to launch if they've accomplished everything in this period.

It would be illogical to let everyone in (99% of which won't bother testing and just want to play) without knowing you've at least got good feedback and a good game balance from those who are willing to test and provide feedback.

Bollocks it's not like you're speaking from experience and they should just make an open beta for obvious reasons.

open beta would help the people that have been waiting around for months decide if its been worth the wait, if they like the new changes and get more of a say on things that have been changed before they are made final and not just the few people in closed beta! they dont all know what they are on about! not alot of us on the forum asking questions get answers from the actual team very often either!

also find it weird some people in the closed beta are rerolling from there usual class when its released cause of some bad class changes

the team wants us to understand things from there point of view but are more then happy to ignore the point of view of the people waiting around for months! they may have things to do in RL but alteast say "probaly not out till after march" instead of trying to pull us along for months -.-

It's hard enough balancing the classes we have had for years... I hate being a downer, and I think its awesome that we can experience a new class thanks to the team here, but lets take the demon/angel transformation.. Demon seems to be high damage mode while angel seems to convert into defense mode limiting damage output but greatly increasing defense.. (This is what I got off Google translation) This seems to be a vital skill for a class with no real CC or AoE. Take shield away from a wizard and what do we have... Just forget the archer until we know more about it. Lets focus on the 4 classes?

*3 classes.

The assassin was a flop and ruined the balance of Mir ever since, i have no doubt the archer will do the same.

This game is called The legend of Mir - "the THREE heroes" for a reason.

The three heroes doesn't relate to the amount of playable races, but the initial story about how the world of mir developed. It's just a chapter name, one which korean mir hasn't gone by since 2.3

much like mir3 was initially called Evils Illusion, then Judgement of blood, then Prelude to War.

Assassin's didn't flop they just kicked your ass and that was only down to an imbalance of skill not coding.
