in an attempt to cut down on bandwidth Usage, We have added a new feature to the Forum, Remote avatar linking.
What this means is, when you goto edit your profile and change your avatar (http://www.lomcn.co.uk/forum/member.php?s=&action=editavatar) the box entitled "You can enter an URL of your avatar:" Now Acts as a remote link to the avatar, rather than uploading it to the LomCN Server.
This will save alot of bandwidth for LOMCN and apges will load quicker, Because, Now the Server doesn't ahve to query the Database for a whole avatar, rather just a link to one.
Unfortunatly there are 2 Drawbacks to this which were not forseen when the modification was added.
1) Unfortunatly ALL old avatars were lost in the modification process - *Now Fixed*
2) You can no longer use the "upload an avatar from your computer" Function :/
Sorry for any inconvienience this may have casued.
I will attempt to get the "upload an avatar from your computer" Function back, but I seriously Doubt i will be able to.
