Depends how you look at it i guess. I suppose its like taking steroids just so you can life more. It's unfair yet doesn't class as cheating exactly. However we could argue our view all day.
The point is something needs to be in place which keeps everyone the same speed. The speed not be determined by 3rd party apps or PC power. The only real thing that should effect speed should only be the internet connection.
Realistically i doubt this will ever get sorted. What servers need is a good solid anti-cheat software serverside and clientside. Much like VAC or Punkbuster.

I think youre misinterpretting what a gamebooster actually does. Because it has the word "booster" in its name does not mean it is boosting, cheating or enhancing anything. All the programme actually does is turn off processes that are not necessary for gaming. Things like your printer, spyware programmes and all the other crap you have running on your pc or laptop that take up resources. You can actually do this manually if you open up task manager, but for computer illiterate people like me this is not so easy, which is why a programme that could do it for me helped.
Not all of us have a pc or laptop capable of running these files very well. Im yet to see a person who runs at the same speed or a slower speed than me, and PvP is out of the question when I have mega fast warriors hitting me from half a screen away and skipping 3 spaces to my 1. Game booster helped me enough to mean I could at least avoid being hit so much. Now I cant get away from a black maggot again :P
People can still cheat on your server, fyi.
Don't get complacent. And don't selfishly plug your server in a non related thread, have some respect.
Cheats have and always will be a problem. Frankly until someone either codes in a speed modifier into the client themselves (thus literally making everyone the same "speed") I don't think you'll ever stop speed cheats.
Using 3rd party apps such as Smart close / gamebooster shouldn't and wouldn't be bannable. You were probably using something to amplify your in-game speed.

I took a quick look at TGA and here is why you may of been banned; am740.exe (Cave men memory scanner) am740.dll (Cave men memory scanner) cheatengine-i386.exe (Pretty obvious why) d3d10hook.dll from CheatEngine bla bla. Then it's using things such as CreateToolhelp32Snapshot looping through your WHOLE process list, not just mir itself. But yeah, If you've done nothing wrong and you got banned you've got nothing to worry about. MiloFoxburr will get to bottom of it and you'll be banned appropriately.i got banned too hun im waiting on milo to look into it for me as i have done nothin wrong
Well, I can tell you this anti-cheat is much easier to bypass than VAC and PB, but you got to remember, VAC and PB are professionals in anti-cheating and anti-reverse engineering where as most of mir developers are game programmers. Just like myself as visa versa, I lack game developing skills, I make up for it in generic and security related programming.

Gamebooster is why I was temporarily banned - Ive had this confirmed. I was not using anything to amplify my in game speed, I wouldnt even know where to find something like that - and if I was, it wouldve been a terrible programme considering I was still yet to meet someone who ran slower than me ingame. All game booster did for me was allow me to run at the same speed as some others, but I was still light years behind the likes of Sanity, Ceef, TangoD, Insinia and all the other mega fast people.
