Hey all. Starting to make a server again. Its gonna be a big job and i have only just started. I made a few servers eons ago, but they didnt really kick off through hosting problems. Everyone who did manage to view gave extremely good feedback tho.
Some details.
Over 75 quests. This is a hell of a lot but thankfully i have 40 already thanks to previous servers saved to disc
Examples...Easy quest....Find souls from mob drops and use to get pets.
Harder quests.....A ongoing quests tells the story of the belgariad series of books from David Eddings. Find the Orb of Aldar to summon the incredible power of BelGarion, the hardest mob of all time. This will be extremely rare, and i'm imagining that only 1 or 2 people will have this. The pet will kick arse, killing most mobs in game in one hit.
Lvling
---------
It will be average lvling. Similar to Crusade lvling i'm thinking. But with slightly less. It will be set up so that lvling to 40 will take the AVERAGE player (4hrs a day maybe) at least 5 days to lvl. Although solid lvling for 10 hours like Rashed
will be there in a day or two. From there it will increase slightly but no more really. No one likes being the same lvl for long. There will be secret areas such as Aldars Tower that give much higher exp for a short while if you are granted access.
Stats
---------
Stats will be very varied. I am worknig on splitting the wiz class into two sub classes. One following nature and one following Aldar. Nature will find getting drops a lot easier, although the path of Aldar is full of wisdom (access to higher exp area).
I will mainly be putting the stats medium tho. The whole item db is to be re named and stated. Starters will find themselves with stats like dc10-20 and increasing to 60-100 for 40 and 150-220 for 80. So medium to high
Drops
--------
Each area has different chances of drops. Much like mir drops really, but the lower in the area u go, the higher the chance of drops (reqrding those who work for it)
Rares will be rare, except lower lvl versions. A para will prob be commonplace, but the stats are ****e. So a rarer version will be required which is rare etc.
Areas
---------
I will be using more of the same here unfortunately. I have no exp making maps so can't really do a lot.
I so far have 20+ areas worked out. Working on another 20.
Extras
---------
I like the idea of some players who work hard getting fitting rewards. There will be extremely rare circumstances meaning that 1 player has a decent advantage over others by working hard to get that.
Examples
-----The Orb Of Aldar------
This sacred item will only drop once. I will put it in drops with no stats. When someone finds it they will need to complete the quest to unlock its powers. WHilst doing this i will delete the drop file. Then i will add stats...depending on class who found it. It will grant access to the highest rewards including The Cracking of Earth quest, the teachings of old quest, and access to the mind of aldar (exp extreme). When or if the player destroys the item (chance of happening everytime they use it) it will be lost and needed to be found again. I will start the cycle again.
-----Revealed Destiny------
There will be an npc that can be used that will randomly choose someone when talked to (chances are 1/100000) and that person will have their destiny revealed. This means they will recieve a exp boost and a massively refined version of the current weapon. GodSlayer=30-54dc and Destiny version will be 60-108dc.
I have no ETA yet of Beta but will keep informed. Any ideas suggestions.
