Because the news has picked up now with bombings, IraQ, things like that. So they dont have to take a story thats over 6 years old and blow it out of proportion to get people intrested. Although there was some **** in the news about it being found in italy, or germany or something recently.

The way bird deaths are reported, its almost like birds are immortal, unless they contract Bird Flu.
