Bit of database help

I have a backup of ma m8s database and when i try to restore my database with this backup i get
" Too Many Backup Devices specified for backup or restore; only 64 alloed. "
i think he was using SQL 2005 and im using 2000 donnno if that matters or am i missing somthing else? thank

Can you use SQL 2005 on XP?
