Bladestorm Poll - Warriors

Should Bladestorm be tweaked?

This is a genuine post seeking to find a fair balance NOT just to gain a buff. I'll try not to rant and keep it concise.

Bladestorm feels weaker.....

I understand that the classes have been 'revamped' on Zircon so maybe I'm approaching this wrongly, however, Bladestorm is a HUGE part and reason as to why many of us play the class. It has always been our most damaging skill by quite a long way compared to other skills.

Now this point is important because it's here that balance has been applied and I feel it just needs tweaking. Currently our damage multipliers are evenly spread so our total output could be say:

FS: 300% DR: 270% BS: 330% Total % = 900

Whereas previously (traditionally), the skills have been more like (I don't know exactly):

FS: 250% DR: 270% BS: 380% Total % = 900

The total skill rotation damage output is the same but importantly BS is now our highest damaging skill. Obviously it's multiplier shouldn't get the point where you 1 hit everyone all the time but it should be getting close to matching some of the Sin skills.

I've spoken to quite a few Warriors (all players with vast experience) and they all agree that BS is currently weak and not how it's always been.

Your 'sensible' thoughts? Poll options reflect the proposed changes.

The problem we found and it’s also the same in korean Mir, to kill anyone would just be a case on waiting for the double bladestorm and boom. I’m playing a warrioir and bladestorm is not what I’m playing for, the tanky role, mass slow with fetter, later on the will be mass beckon. The old version of bladestorm just creates an easy win mechanic. Again it’s more balanced now. A linear damage output rather than spike.

I rerolled because warriors are nothing but tanks they stand no chance in pvp at these levels.

They are the weakest class for sure.

Mir2 or Mir3, warrior has never been an early game class. Ever.

Usually ends up single handedly owning everyone in the end, though.

I've only ever played Assassin and Wizard when playing Mir 2, I played Mir 3 a little at UK launch (way back when everyone was using the Total Format forums). This is my first time rolling as a Warrior and I've got to say I'm loving it.

Currently I feel like a Wizard on steroids, charging in to mass spawns rounding them up and using half moon to quickly dispatch them. I'm not an "experienced" warrior by any means but from what I can see they fit the tank role perfectly, high HP and defense, medium damage with a couple of damage boosting skills.
Don't get me wrong hunting with an Assassin a couple of levels higher than me is weird. We have comparable DC and I'm hitting for 30-40 damage a hit on average where as with his skill rotation hes hitting for 200+ a hit every time. But as long as the balance between Warriors being the meat shield with mediocre damage and Assassins being high damage low defense I'm confident it will be balanced come level 44+

Its early days to ask for changes, were what a week into the server? I'm under no illusion changes will be required as the game starts to feel balanced but from my experience servers who chop and change things on a whim within the first few weeks often end up with a very unbalanced server and people quickly leaving in their droves.

The point to my thread is not that Warriors are weak.............it's that Bladestorm is now weak when traditionally it's always been a much higher damaging skill comparable to FS and DR. That's the issue most Warriors have. Warriors are not a weak class, Bladestorm is.

The issue is not scaling - all classes scale - it's the relative %s between FS, DR and BS.

Unless you've played a Warrior on Mir 3 for years, you won't understand the issue here... :)
