I’m most likely going to get some flack from the “I want everything easy crowd” but would appreciate some input from everyone in regards to this.

Earlier this afternoon Jamie suggested that books could be repaired for cost “X” to be brought up to 100/100 pages, this got mixed opinions over global, personally I’m not a fan of making it so easy… but I would like to put an idea forward as an alternative that still gives an element of chance to fail.

Would it be possible to introduce a book rewriting system, similar in effect to the weapon refining system but with books:-

So, the xxx/100 pages would be one governing factor, as it would obviously be easier to rewrite a book with higher pages.

The next part would be bundles of paper, there could be different types of paper (or purity) like the ores and these would be used as the next factor within in equation (drop or way to get paper would need to be decided – saw down chestnut trees perhaps?).

The final item would be different types of Ink (like how we use accessories now) again drop or means to get would need to be decided, possibly something that can be harvested from specific mobs.

The final option would be based on time just like the current refines system.

Additionally, a golden feathered quill would be available in the GG shop that adds a specific amount of refine % success…

Anyway just food for thought but I feel this would give more value than just been able to find book “A”, pay price “C” and you are 100% guaranteed for it to work….

Seems like a good idea, if a bit over complicated. Just having a tiered paper drop then making that reroll the pages would be enough imo. Tiered so lvl 50+ book prices don't impact paper for low levels. A reroll so it's not too easy, might still get a low page book anyway, just better than getting a sub 10 page book and being gutted.

Alternatives let pages of the book drop in addition to the books. Consuming the pages would add x pages to the first book of it's name in bag. Have them drop at about half the rate of the book, so rare, but very helpful if people want to boost a low page book.

I actually like it, spiders can drop the ink for example, diff quality ink from diff spiders including spider sub boss, Snake venom/bile whatever they drop gives that a use.

Also think that where level 4 spells are concerned there should be an increase chance with each fail OR perhaps a counter in the same sort of way as the gaurunteed drop system whereby after x amount of books you deffo learn it and get shot of this not enough pages double rng roll mechanic where the 2nd roll is rediculously high chance of fail even for lvl 7 books.

Give each book a rate adequate to what it gives ie level 7 spells 1/100 chance to work (since no wiz is using fireball etc wont make much diff) to the rarer skills ie renounce 1/2000 or whatever the current chance of success is? Don't really see what the harm is if im willing to spend the next 2 weeks farming 1 particular spell to use 2000 books i would have thought it fair that i should get it by the end? On the current ssystem the casuals may never ever get level 4 spells and then when you add level 5 they get left massively behind.

Would rather a system like, Collect 100 of X book and get the spell level 4.

I think learning skills is fine as it is but level 4 ones are just getting silly now lol.

First and foremost, what does this comment have to do with the thread?

Secondly, eeeerm not sure what version of Mir 3 you are playing but with guaranteed drops you will get the skill books and fairly fast to be honest... just ask anyone who hunts the caves where they drop.

Still, I think they have found their way into the wrong thread... there was no talk of Lv.4 skills here....

NVM, please can thread be closed as its gone off topic.
