Can either Samuel and BabyHack go stand in BW SZ @ trust merchant for 5minutes and youll notice the copious amount of bots? Apparantly your anti bot measures aren't working again. Whoever is running these bots is bound to be making a fortune.. Been the same bots for the past 3nights running to SV, dieing, selling up to the shops, and doing it all over a again.

Lomsales was banned yesterday along with all accounts I could find that where linked to it.
30 minutes after all the accounts where banned more appeared.
I ban bots on daily bases, it takes time away from doing other things on the server.
Trees will be removed again for the next reboot and all items will be removed from low level monsters.
What can I do when every way an account can be banned is done yet they keep coming back.
If you know a way to stop these bots then I would be very happy to here it.
As afaik no MMO game in the world has been able to fully stop bots.
Also the anti bot system flags the bots and we then have to manually ban them.
As I said if you have any ideas on how to stop something that no other game official with all it's resources or unofficial with a team of 2 has been able to stop then I will be happy to hear about it.

I did not check, both Sam and myself ban so many of them we do not add up the gold amounts.
I could add it up but what difference would it make. It would just be for interest as the gold is taken out of the game anyway.

If the bot detection is as solid as you say; why not implement some kind of automatic action when a player is flagged as a bot, for example teleport them to a 'prison cell' then perhaps let them escape if they can answer an NPC maths questions in less than 60 seconds..
Heres a scenario for ya....
Happily hunting...and bam... im teleported to a prison cell .... because some idiot thinks its funny to send me there... just for shitz and gigz.... not cool lol
Perhaps, after you've answered the question; the NPC can the tele you back..
Or just don't use a bot?

I do think an automated system here would help. It's ok being flagged, but if they're flagged and then left to carry on for a few days they're still profiting.
As soon as the system detects it, they should have limitations put on their character - moved to a prison like someone above said, or have to answer questions, not allowed to collect any more gold until you've confirmed it etc.
I'm pretty sure most of the people your system detects are legit botters, so I don't see any harm in stopping them from carrying on until you investigate personally. And in the event your system did pick up someone whos not a botter, then give them an apology exp boost item for an hour or something.

This is a great Idea but how about if no answer after x amount of time the character gets rooted until the captcha is input but is immune from being pk'd. Also players and mobs can pass freely through the character to avoid door blocking etc while rooted. You also get logged out from server after you've been rooted for 15mins.
Also possibly a cooldown on how many times one character can have "stand and deliver" initiated to stop legit players getting griefed. Or make it so the bot detection system initiates the "Stand and Deliver".
EDIT: you cannot have "Stand and Deliver" initiated while in a safezone (this is so people can afk level their skills)

still loads on today , blocking the door again to bw accessory shop and they keep coming back trying to get in and then log out or tele after about 10 minutes ,fair few of them are around lvl20-22 now too
I reported these people nearly 2 months ago now lol... It took this long to ban them, after the economy is already ****ed. Its laughable

As I have said I ban these accounts daily, I banned a load of them last night then went to bed (sorry for sleeping)
More of them appeared overnight. It is not like I am doing nothing and just leaving them to it.
I am as pissed off about these bots as you lot are, hence the reasons I asked for ideas on how to stop them.
I am just going to auto ban anything the system detects from now on and if that means some players get banned they will have to prove they are not botting in order to be unbanned.

Anyone that's flagged has to answer a yes tin on the spot normal players can answer and carry on if you don't answer within 60 seconds you get kicked or sent to prison till your investigated
i know this would take alot of time but would it not help if accounts had to be authorised? you could recruit someone to do it. i wouldnt like to do it as it would be awfully boring lmao
This is also a good idea but as said it would be as boring as hell and in the event that a new player decides to join the serer there could be a delay on the account being approved due to the person that approves them being busy etc

i really think the "move them to prison and ask them a question" would be the easiest option, so long as it moves them back to where they came from once answered.
The only way your going to truly stop bots is by under cutting them and selling gold yourself, but this defeats the purpose of a healthy economy, which we went against from the start.
Perhaps the sale of little things like Repair all gear tokens and 15x hp/ 15xmp bundles at 10-20p may put a dent in the reason people are buying gold from these people, who are tbh the ones to blame for all this.
The bots wouldn't exist if people wasn't willing to pump money into them.
