ok my grandma and grandad brought a computer last year from pc world so its the normal tft screen that come with the computer.Today my grandad told me that it keps going off everytime he put the computer on. The screen would stay on untill the windows xp screen comes on where the 3 green or blue bars travel across on that loading screen, but the screen only flickers, it carrys on until windows welcome screen theen just goes off. Id does this everytime. The green light is still on btw. To actually see your desktop you have to swith the moniter off and on again but it only stays on for like 2 seconds MAX. Can any 1 tell me whats wrong with that?

p.s i went home to get my moniter and all the computer works fine when my moniter is plugged in. It doesnt go off or anything so i no for sure that it is the moniter. Any help please

Mine used to do that, untill it went totally black.

Fix? Buy a new monitor.

Sounds familiar to a problem I had once, but my screen's a standard 19" CRT. It was a case of plugging it into my graphic card instead of the onboard socket.

Check if you have more than one of those monitor pin socket thingies at the back of your computer, and alternate between them to see if that helps.

Hope I said that right ;x
