Your PC might have trouble running Vista without slowing down. It's useless to buy Ultimate really unless you're running a business. Well, from what I can see of the features anyway. Get Home Premium.

You sure it would run slow even with the gfx card and 2 gig ram?

I have a pc almost exactly that spec (skt 939 not 940), DVDROM not CD, plus a GeForce 6600 GT graphics card and onboard wifi card instead of modem. Cost me 20 quid more then your quote and that was over 18 months ago. I think you could do better tbh.
