Can i get some confirmation that with the new drop file system a boss has got a chance to drop 1 item out of a list of rares?

Are you asking if that every time you kill a boss your are guaranteed at least 1 rare item?

No im saying does it have a chance to drop ONE item from an entire list of rares, thats the vibe im getting and i don't really like it tbh.

The higher level boss's dont even drop mid rare items or gems ect, well they do but very rare.

You can have multiple rares per drop, I certainly have been on my test runs anyways.

So when? I thought this was planned for this weekend. At this rate seems like the week geeks are gonna be the only ones able to use these the first week. With that drops will be insane then nerfed by next weekend. As usual ofc...

True, the worst thing about chronicles is the way the drops get CHANGED constantly... jesus we know they can change drops even without a reboot awful drops for first 3/4 months and now constantly changing time after time most important thing on a server is drop rates but they are clueless as to what rate and what drops they want... tweaking drop rates every couple weeks is stupid not the way to go they should be set in stone and should have remained the same from start to finish...

On post says hurry up and release and the othe post goes on about fixing bugs due to stuff being released to fast.

There is no way to win.

If we rush and release stuff (very little time to test) players moan that stuff has not been tested.
If we take our time and test fully, players moan about the delay.

As for drops, I can look at them again if players want me to but in fairness it has been 2 weeks since the drops that are on the server now where added. This is a long term server, if players can post what they expected to drop in the last two weeks I will be more then happy to listen and take their advice on board.

Well i expect to get at least some med-rare items from the high tier boss's such as ( im using dc items because i dont know other class item names) Power rings 8trigwheels gems ect items on par with them but instead all we get is pots, its just making us think that the high tier boss's are not worth the time and we can get better items for less the effort from mid-tier boss's

What have you been killing and how often?
I would agree that things like dark devil should have a power/violet/titan atleast 1/15 chance.

It would be handy if the drops could work as a 1/15 chance of 1 of the following: items
Instead of each item having its own rate.
"i think?" by doing it that way there would be more drops of the items you want to introduce without flooding at the same time. For example the 3 said rings have a 10% chance each of dropping but thats not 30% chance for A drop its still 10%.
If they shared the initial drop chance so "medring" 30% then within med ring it selects from the 3 at random.

I think that would help without having the chance of raising drops snd ending up with all 3 droppin from 1 kill.

You could then weight certain rings within each file to balance supply and demand. So 30% med ring - 20%vio 20%titan 60%power

Sounds like more work than its worth though.
I do understand when people get frustrated at dreadful drops but that is the game and im used to it :)

I have put around 15-20 hours into hunting fox's in the last week, had nothing drop but pots, a few low level armors and a talisman from a white fox :S. I don't mind putting effort into hunting orbs/items but it just feels like i'm wasting my time. If I had put my time into hunting say, PB instead. I would have gotten a level 30 wep or 2, and maybe a few accessories to sell, as well as 2x or 3x the exp per hour.

Gonna keep trying with fox's till I get something, but drops there seem poor compared to the exp/gold you sacrifice to hunt there. Not sure what i'm expecting to get dropped, but its pretty soul destroying putting tones of effort in for level 22 armors with low exp/hour while all my gold bleeds away on pots.

you cant expect a boss that take 15 mins to get there and kill and takes 2 people, to drop on a regular basis. its more the bosses that take hours and a full group of people to kill which are dropping **** and not even covering the cost of pots / time to bother killing them.

This is very very close to what the drop files are (and no he has not seen the files)

Each set if items is grouped and there is a chance of 1 item from that group dropping.

Now maybe the overall rate on the group is to high but I can not see how or why as some are as low as 1/5 and even some bosses are 1/2

Saying that and just as a example .
All collect able item quests ie bug cave and stone temple repeatable quests are set to give the quest item 1/2 when a monster is killed.

Now I know for a fact that you can kill 20+ and not get the quest item.

The EvilTong item quest is the same, it is set to 1/2 yet I have had reports of players having to kill 10+ ETs before they got the item.

Without giving away on what we've been killing we've just about killed them all, and ive had better drops from ikh izt :/

Cool, cheers BH, that will explain why drops took longer than changing numbers too. Seems you built more of the lookup files like the mass drops but for item types as i was suggesting.
1 step ahead. Or im 1 step behind.
Either way sounds good.

Im yet to explore The big bosses on here as i dont have the time to put in so i dont know how many people it takes or how easy A kill it can be ect ect.

I did read that a wiz can untame pets and a tao can trap hex them creating a perma wall so if thatd true then a team of 2 can kill some of the bigger ones. I wouldnt want them getting a "rare" every time they do it even though it sounds hard and involves luck, timing and a time dedication.

Like I said every time theres changes they drasticly change the server then it gets nerfed to oblivion so that only those that exploited it the first few days get the chance. IE 15k hp evil mir that was droppin loads not its more beneficial to kill ant queen.

False promises? So, you pulled a magic number out of a hat, expected it to be live by this number and because it wasn't we have broken a promise? Are you an only child by any chance?

Would you prefair we release it now, without testing it and go through all the stuff you say again.

We are trying to release a big update, yet again and you keep moaning that we are not doing it fast enought to keep you happy, yet in the same post you moan about bugs from past updates that where rushed to release.

Really we are not going to win with you, you can not have it both ways.

I am going to lock this now, both Sam and myself have to much to do tonight and do not have time to reply to this thread.
